    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

Most of you know that I am moving to Texas at the end of this month. After much thought I am going to ship all of my monsters the night I fly out and beat them to the house the next morning.

There was a web site I I have seen many times that selling I think packs of 8 boxes with all you need to ship leopards. Anyone know what that site is?

I could also use ANY tips on shipping. The box will be hot, so no need to heat packs, maybe cold packs. I think last night in Dallas it was around 90...103 at day but its over night shipping.

Thanks for any help!

Depending on the number of animals and the weight, it may be more economical and safer to use Delta Dash. It would go airport to airport but would be kept in a climate controlled warehouse during any layover and would not sit on a hot truck all day if you miss the delivery.

That's true. You never know if your flight will be delayed or something, you don't want them sitting in a truck for 2 days while they drive around looking for you.

Alternatively if there's already family or friends (maybe a close neighbor) that could home to accept shipping you could just send the package to them, just in case. If not Airport to Airport is likely the best option if you have a lot of animals.

You need a account to use Delta Dash,again i would just drive the geckos down there.
Actually, you do not need to be a "verified" Delta shipper to ship live animals via Dash. That is what I was told here at NOrfolk (ORF) and I have used them on several occasions. They accept personal checks.

I just got an 8 pack of boxes and enough deli cups to last me a year.

I think I know what you are talking about, Delta Dash. I had to drive my Dog 4 hours to Atlanta to do the dash because that was the only place closest to me. He was shipped that day to TX.

I think I am going to ship them the normal way. What is the best over night, FedEX or UPS?

Do I just take the box in that day, or do I need to tell someone before hand for over night flight.

Thanks a lot for the help!

How many geckos do you have? It will be over 40 dollars each box. dependng on how many you have delta or drivig would be better.
With the heat in Texas I would worry about you missing them somehow. If they got stuck on the truck past noon in those temps the outcome would not be good.
I personally would drive them as well, too much to worry about with delays and such and you don't seem to be experianced shipping.

Austin, to ship Fed X you need to be certified and in some areas UPS is stupid and doesn't know they can take them, it took me a few times of having to make them call in to get them shipped without hassel.

Some areas UPS is better, some Fed X is, delta is always the better choice and may even be less expensive.

FedX and UPS are going to do a box size charge, I had one last year that was $85 for a few chameleons because the box was too large and had to go for the 10lb reate when Delta would have been $65 or so.

Most airports have a delta counter, Id call the airport you are taking your flight from and see if they have a delta counter and what the schedule would be, it should be similar to your flight schedule going from and to the same location.

It does sound aweful hot at 103 for no cold pack, IF you can ship them late evening when temps are in the 80's and they arrive in the 80's thats one thing but if they leave in the 90's the box may get hotter than moving air temp. When I use cold packs I use a larger box and place it at the top in one of the plastic pouches they use for fedx and UPs labels and make sure the leos are several inches below the cold pack.
