In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I cant seem to search, every time I try to search my comp freezes, I know its something to do with my computer. But can you all help me out?? I need to send a pair of snakes to a couple in Fort Worth Tx, I normally dont ship much (most of my sales are local) but whenever I do, I used Airborne and UPS, but I didnt have a account, I just sent it out no biggie. I'll admit (I have sent packages over night with lizards without telling them what it was) I know shame on me, I'd stop doing that. Now I call and ask if they ship animals, all the following have turned me down: FEDEX, UPS and Airborn, either I need account or they need to check my facilities. I already setup a account with airborne, but I want to ship this snakes ASAP, is there any carrier that can do this for me by tomorrow??? It blows cause one representative will tell me "yeah we can ship snake, infact I processed a shipmetn last week" then I'll call again to double check, and I'll get" NO SIR, there is no way we can ship live animals etc....) What do I do?? Please email me, or reply, hopefully the comp will let me see the replies. Thanks everyone, and sorry if this is a constant repost..

Most of the shipping companies are now working with snakes, but unfortunately the process to become an approved shipper & do it legally usually takes about 1-2weeks depending on the company.
You will probably find it easiest to work with Fed Ex if you are doing low volume shipping, they have become very user friendly to all types of non-venemous reptile shippers in the past 3 years.
If you can wait a week...then all you need to do is set up a Fed Ex account online, then call your sales representative & request a waiver of liability to ship harmless reptiles, they will ask for you to ship them a test package, once the package is approved their legal department will fax you a copy of the waiver to sign & you can begin shipping. The whole process only took us about a week, but that was several years ago, now with a higher volume of requests I think it is taking about 2 weeks for approval.
The whole Fed Ex process is detailed under the shipping forum online here & contains needed contact numbers and so forth.

Hope this helps & good luck!

Mr. Baker

I am curious. Which of the major shipping companies other than Fedex are now permitting snake shipments? As far as I know, Airborne has shut live animal shipments down completely since the merger with DHL and UPS has never offically allowed snake shipments.

By the way, you need to include your full name on all posts in this forum or you risk having your post deleted.

UPS has allowed shipment of snakes on a case to case basis for years, however not to the general public. Although we have not used them for over a year (we primarily use Delta & Fed Ex-due to more competitive pricing that they offered to us), we did recieve exclusion from them to ship all non-venemous reptiles-including snakes. I also know of several other breeders, wholesalers & distributers personally that use UPS with permission as well. UPS has allowed at the regional & national level, exclusions to volume shippers for live animals, whether they are doing so today- I wouldn't know for sure as we don't use them anymore, that is why I recommended to use Fed Ex as they are more friendly to low volume shippers & the general public.
I was not referring specifically to Airborne, as when they did ship reptiles, they had a very mediocre service at best & we never personally chose to use them. The few times I recieved reptiles through Airborne, I was very dissatisfied with their delivery times & inablity of drivers to read a map.

My full legal name is included in all my posts- B.K. Baker III

Just trying to lead him in the right direction as his computer was not allowing a search for the shipping info to work....

Thanks-

Oh- & By the way John, thanks for the CB 2002 Bullsnakes-we really liked the quality of your animals, they are doing very well for us, and your customer service was top notch!

I was not aware of Airborne not allowing reptiles anymore? I have been shipping with them for awhile now and I just shipped a few Tortoises today. Boxes clearly marked. What gives?

Airborne Merger

A few months ago(approximately?) Airborne merged with DHS and since the merger they changed their policy to not accept any live animal shipments at all. Your local office may not be aware- I would check with them to varify before you send anything else so they don't stop it enroute & send it back-it's happened to a few people on here with UPS where they inspect & hold animals or delay shipment because employees accept the packages & aren't familiar with policies/changes & then someone else along the line catches the error & the animals get held up...
Best to use Fed Ex or Delta as there is no gray area with them & they definately want the business.
We never used Airborne for animals anyway, their service out here was horrible, but alot of people were using them regularly without problems and have not been able to since the merger-there's a bunch of info on it under another thread, but the thread is really long & hard to read through all the info...I'd attach the link but I don't have any idea what it was under, I think UPS, Fed Ex Bad Guys or something of that nature.
