    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

I just wanted to enter a quick atta boy for Mike Troetti at Sideshow Exotics. We recently did a transaction with him and he was somewhat concerned that one of the animals he was sending us was a little thin. To make up for this, he sent an additional animal at no extra charge. When the animals arrived, they were all in perfect health. The animal Mike felt was thin, was more than adequate. I would feel comfortable doing business with him again for sure.-Marc Morris

Sideshow Exotics - Excellent!

I just recently purchased a snake from Mike and I'd just like to say it was a very good experience. The snake is top shelf and Mike did a class job packing it for cold weather. I'd highly recommend him and hope to do business with him again.

Hello everyone I just want to give a quick thumbs up to Mike I just bought a 66% het for pied ball from him the animal is great and breeding for me two days after I got him and Mike did a really good job with the packaging he sent it to me and when I opened it up and hit him with my raytek he was 76 degrees which is great seeing it was only 30 degrees out he really is a great guy I wish we had more people like him in this industry Thanks again Mike

Awesome

Just bought an adult 100% het Albino male from Mike, and it's gotta be one of the best transactions I've ever had in the Reptile business. Mike will make sure everything is okay with his customers and has great communication. He calls to let you know everything that is going on with your animal and spares no details. You won't be disapointed with Mike's service. My snake came well packed and despite the box being really cold on the outside, the snake's surface temp was 78 degrees. He provides all paperwork and guarantees with his signature. I wish everyone would do business like this. Thanks

Add one more incredible transaction to the list! Awesome animals, well represented! Mike is an outstanding guy who goes the extra mile to personally speak with you about each individual animal before and after it's sold!

Thanks Mike!

I just have to add something.

I have bought a lot of reptiles (more than I should) and have NEVER, ever seen someone so concerned with customer satisfaction.

I had the snake shipped to my work, so that I'd be there when it arrived. Well, the snake arrived before I did and Mike actually called me to follow up before I even got to work that morning.

There was a slight descrepancy in the length of the animal (anyone that works with them knows that Carpet Pythons are not easy to measure), so when I told Mike that she was a little smaller than he said, he immediately, without hesitation offered to either refund all of my money (including shipping both ways) for a return, or to give me a partial refund and let me keep the animal. I chose to keep the animal and Mike even went so far as to give me a little extra money back for my trouble. :-D

All I can say is that I'm truly impressed...much more so than had everything gone perfectly.

It's easy to be a good guy when everything goes right, but guys like Mike Troetti (who go above and beyond to make it right) don't come along very often.

Good Guy

Mike is truly a great guy! We need more people in the hobby like him. I just completed a trade with him. I have to admit it was one of the best experiences I've had. :thumbsup:
Fantastic looking animal in top condition! I will be looking forward to doing more transactions with Mike!
