    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

silkbacks

Of course you can breed a female silkback! If you have a violet breeding male, it's probly not the best idea. I mean the kind of male that breeds and rips spikes off of female beardies nape. But other calmer males, isnt a problem.

So you have bred a female silkie Tom?
I produced a silkback, sold it to a customer from a local reptile show. He bred her to a red leather. So the answer is, No. I have bred a male silkback to another female dragon. but havent bred a female silkie. I am more about producing them, than breeding them.

Time will tell how long silkbacks are around. Personally, I am not a fan and will not breed them.

Whats your personal dis-taste?

Sorry for the late reply, I havent been around lately.

I was asked why I had a distaste for silkies. First, I think they look like little dehydrated aliens. Second, I use enough KY around here that I dont have enough to spare to rub down a freakin reptile with it.

Hope that explains it. :)

I would be apprehensive to breed a female silky only because I have "heard" that their skin is very fragile. And with having seen how the act of breeding, weather you have a violent male or not, can cause damage to the skin on a normal dragons nape I could only imagine the possible damage a female silk could incur.

Now with that said, though I am not a fan of the Silkback, its possibilities are interesting to me. As the silkback is a superform of a leatherback, meaning if you bred a silkback to any dragon you would get 100% leathers. I wonder if a silkback to silkback pairing has ever been attempted? I would be interested to see what came out of that.
