In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I brought this up with Ed in another thread, but instead of hijacking that one I thought this warrented a new post.

According to what info I'm finding-

Pewters & Black Pewters occur when a Pastel jungle is bred to a Cinny or Black... so far so good, but then the WAMMY!

A Super Pastel x Black Pastel produces the Silver Streak which looks like the Silver Bullet. Or you can breed a Pewter Pastel to a Cinnamon Pastel to make a Silver Bullet. This is freaky...

Because it this is true- a double dose of either Pastel jungle &/or Black/Cinny back to a single dose of the other is producing an all Silver snake.

Am I getting this right and the semantics of the name is merely describing the method in which ones arrives at an all sliver snake or is there more too it?

I'm into BPs and challenged to keep up with all the new stuff. Thanks in advance for your help.

Super Pastel X Black Pastel = Silver Streak
Pewter X Cinny = Silver Bullet

I am not positive of your question but Pewter X Cinny is the only way to make an all silver snake as far as I am aware.

The Silver Streak is also all silver http://www.pythons.com/bpastel.html which means:

Super Pastel (PP) + Black Pastel (BN) = Silver Streak (a Silver snake)
AND
Pewter (CP) + Cinny (CN) = Silver Bullet (a Silver Snake)

Focusing on the end result, let's drop the name & assuming the the C & B are the same basic gene let's replace the C (for Cinny) & B (for Black) with an *...

You get Silver from PP*N OR *P*N pairing; if we discard the N (normal gene) then...

Silver = PP* or **P do you see what I'm trying to say now?

Ed, many sites allude the the gene (more importantly/correctly) ACTS the same. However my question is about two ways to get a Silver snake: the Streak vs the Bullet. I'm not seeing he difference between those two snake others than the name, which seems to describe only the process used to said out come.

Is there a difference in the look? That's what I'm checking, because there's a limit to what I can get out of the few photos out there.

So my flawed thinking aside, the point I'm making is two ways to get a silver snake the Cinny gene (reputed to ACT simliar to the Black)... can in Double representation with a SINGLE representation the Pastel gene produce a Silver snake OR the Black Pastel gene in the SINGLE representaion with a Double representation of the Pastel gene produce a Silver snake.

Whether the gene is the same or not the output appears the same to me. What about that aspect?

They are pretty different looking in my opinion

Thanks for sharing the better photos... there is a difference. I other photo I had seen you couldn't tell that there is a residual pattern on the Silver Streak. :iagree:

No problem!
