    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This may be a stupid question. I smoke and i ahve snakes they are in a different room there is rele no direct contact but when i take them out sometimes i have a cigarette i try to stay near the window so it doesnt get near the snake.
I was just wondering if snakes are affected by cigarettes the way that we are?

That is a good question, I do not think they are as subject to as many problems as we may have, but again smoke is smoke so the more you can keep away from the animal is probably best. I know very many people that smoke in and around their reptile rooms and all of their animals show no adverse problems. That is something the government can spend a few million dollars on to find out about. Of course they can also tell me if woodpeckers get headaches...

yeh i do try to stay away as much as possible bc i didnt kno if they are affected i thought thye might be.
and yeh i dont know if woodpeckers get headaches lol

I smoke also. But I do not handle My reptiles and smoke at the same time. Not just because I'm quite positive they don't like smoke in their face, but because accidents happen. A slip, a wrong turn, your snake spooks and bolts, and what do you do when it hits the ember and burns itself? Now it may associate handling with pain.

I'm sure I can dream up some other examples, but bottom line is, it's probably best to just enjoy one addiction at a time for the snakes sake.

One functional lung.

There is that too. Although Boa have both lungs, one is little more than an air sac, and has little or no function for breathing. Some snakes only have one lung period.

A good point Seamus!
