    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

My brother purchased a Hogg Island Boa from Sean at Sunbaked Serpents. He said he would ship it right away but didn't. After a week we called and spoke with his wife. She apologized and said she would ship out the boa and email the tracking #. She said the delay was caused by a family emergency. Well the boa was never shipped and it has been over 2 weeks now. Sean is not answering his phone or responding to multiple emails. His website is also down. I just read over 25 posts that praise him and his business so I am wondering what is going on? Now my brother is pissed and is posting negative comments on Kingsnake.com. I don't blame my brother for being pissed but after reading all the posts about how great he is I am now worried that something is wrong with him or his family. If anyone knows Sean any help would be appreciated in this matter.
 
Sean is an excellent dealer and very concientious...there must be something very unusual that happened. Perhaps he had to leave town for a family emergency. I hope things are OK with him! I would recommend for you to keep trying to contact Sean via phone or email and have patience....I'm sure he will come through for you soon,

I was also surprised as I check his site often. I'm pretty sure there is a reason for his delay. I have bought from him in the past and he has always struck me as an excellent person. Give him some time to reply!

Shawn has some very serious back problems,,and if his wife said SHE WOULD SHIP IT,,,then something must be wrong.. I have known Shawn and his wife for a very long time,,and they are all about business,,as you can tell from other people's experiance.. I have tried to reach him also,,with no responce,,and that tells me there is something definately wrong..
Be patient,,,Shawn will make it good...

Shawn,,if you read this,,you know how to reach me at ANY TIME OF THE DAY OR NIGHT... Let somebody know that you are still alive.. I am a little concerned....

Agreed. I have known Shawn several years as well, and I consider him to be one of the best breeders/dealers out there (highly recommended by anyone). I normally talk to him at least once or twice a month but lately I've had no response to my emails or calls. It is true that Shawn has severe back problems so I am also concerned that something may be really wrong. Either way be patient, I know Shawn will come thru. If I can do anything for you in the mean time, just let me know.
 
Will,,,I,too,am worried about him.. I also usually talk with him a few times a month via phone,,and a few via email.. I havent heard from him in almost a month(about 3 1/2 weeks)..
 
I deal with Shawn for several years, never have a problem in any of the deals, He is in my Good guys list. I know that he is having some personal problems, give him some time.
 
i have also known shawn for a long time and cant believe he would burn anyone he is one of the most honest and kind herp people around..also i know jeff lewis who posted on behalf of shawn and trust his judgement. myself i have had some emergencies like no others i have ever had as of lately so i can imagine how wrong things can go for a person.
maybe the rest of us can help in some way to make it right whilst we find out what happened to shawn.
just let us know...and best wishes meanwhile..

My brother is at work and I just checked his email. He finally received a response from Shawn's wife. She explained that a family member is hospitalized and he had to fly out to be with them. She said he will ship it out when he returns and even offered a refund plus extra for all the trouble. One thing we will all agree on is that family comes first. Now that my brother knows what is going on I am sure he will have no trouble waiting until Shawn is ready. Thanks to everyone who replied. This board has proven to be a valuable tool.

UPDATE:

Shawn's wife has asked me to let everyone know what's going on since she is not familiar with how to post here. Just so I don't accidentally mess up any of the facts, I have pasted a portion of her email here:

To make it short and sweet, Shawn was in the hospital just a few weeks ago because of his back problems. They did a new procedure on him in hopes to easy his pain. It’s still sort of in the experimental stages, but the doctors have high hopes for it. Bottom line is it’s better than the multiple fusions they originally wanted to do.

After coming home, he had a very unexpected trip to make when his mother was hospitalized for breathing difficulties. She has a very bad case of asthma and emphysema, so naturally he needed to be with his family up north. He had just returned home again and got a call saying she was back in the hospital and needed to do emergency surgery so he’s back up there. They removed one of her lungs and so far everything looks good. Hopefully he’ll be home this weekend.


In any case, Cheryl is doing all she can to keep their business running so please be patient. Your prayers are coveted, and again, if there is anything I can do to cover for him, just ask.

Thanks for the update Will. I wasn't sure if Shawn wanted all the details posted here, but the email Jared received said the same. I have also posted a short explanation on Kingsnakes Boa forum. My brother, Jared should be home soon and will be pleased that he has received a response. I am sure he will also feel bad about posting negatively, but he wasn't aware of the situation, all he knew was that he paid for sometihing he didn't get and couldn't reach anyone. Now that we know what is going on our prayers will be with Shawn and his family, and I am sure he will remove any negative posts about Sunbaked Serpents.
Oh, and Will do you have any jungles left??

Sean is ok but had a family emergency.

I ordered a snake from Sean and it was not shipped when he said it would be. Sean's wife contacted me a week later to let me know she was shipping the snake out the next day. She todl me that Sean had a family emergency. I don't know them from Adam but I trusted she would follow through. It did not happen and I did not hear form them for over a week. No one would answer my phone messages or emails. Then his site went down. This really made me worry so I began placing posts on Kingsnake to try to get some attention.

****Sean's wife contacted me via email to let me know that Sean was still dealing with a very important family crisis. SO many people are positing attesting to Sean's great character and his honesty. He must be a very nice man and I am confident he will come through. I am VERY embarrassed that I assumed the worst and was getting pushy and rude. I apologize to his wife and family for this and wish them well. The issue they are dealing with is far mor improtant than any businees issue and they could use all of our prayers. I apologize once again to Sean, his family , and friends. ***********
 
No problem. I completely understand why you were so concerned and I'm sure Shawn will too. Your patients is greatly appreciated. I just hope they both make a quick recovery.

Regarding our Jungle Carpets, I should have a few holdbacks from two or three different clutches available on our table at the Daytona Show. Other than that we are completely sold out.

Not only this but I did a buyer complaint form through paypal and I did finally get a response from Jeff's wife. She stated that she had to issue me a refund because of the complaint I filed. I previously had emailed her to tell her to disregard my complaint and to go ahead and ship the snake when she got the chance. She said that paypal requested a tracking number and she did not have one so she had to send the refund. She said I would receive the refund in 4 days. This was 7 days ago.

I responded to her email minutes after I received it and apologized for the extra trouble caused by my complaint. I told her that I still wanted the hogg and that I HAD PAID HER AGAIN THROUGH PAYPAL so she could ship it when she got the chance.

Like I said this was seven days ago and still no refund and no hogg shipped. I called paypal and they stated that they have sent three emails concerning my complaint and they have not received a response. If they do not receive a reply they said by Wednesday they will try to get the funds from their account and if this is not possible their account will be restricted. If anyone knows Jeff please contact him for me so that their account is not restricted and let him know that I once again am waiting for some type of repsonse from him. I am now into this for $450 and starting to wonder what's up.
