    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have two leopard geckos named Wyvern (male) and Spectre (female) that I've had for quite some time now. Both of them eat like pigs usually and are each housed in their own 20 gallon tanks with temps of 93 on the hot sides and 79-80 on the cold sides and are kept on a diet of superworms and wax worms (treats only).

I went away on a business trip and when I came back, my brother informed me that both Wyvern and Spectre had stopped eating. At first I chalked it up to them adjusting to the change in the weather, but weighed them both to make sure everything was alright and compared their weights to the last ones (I try to weigh them once every 2 weeks). Wyvern's last weight was 91g and Spectre's was 57.6g.

When I weighed this this last time, I saw that Wyvern was down to 87.5 (He needed to lose some weight). But Spectre has dropped to 53.8 grams. Wyvern's tail is fat as always and he eventually did take a cricket from me, but I'm most concerned about Spectre as her tail is getting too skinny for my liking. She's drinking fine, but she will not take food at all. When it's offered with tongs, she jerks her head away from the worm, and shows no interest in them in a bowl. I've switched from their usual superworms to crickets and mealworms, but she's still not interested even when I crush the heads of the worms (usually the smell of worm guts has her going into a feeding frenzy).

Anyone have any opinions on what could be going on with her?

Sometimes leopard geckos go on feeding strikes. It's generally recommended to offer them food until they start eating again, however if you are worried you should take your animals to a reptile vet. If you don't feel they need a vet, but just a little force feeding to get their appetites roaring again try reptaboost. It's on amazon for about $9 and it has saved many lizards lives (my mom jokes that it's baby formula for lizards). Try that and see if it helps if you feel they just need a food boost. If they appear sick or that doesn't help please do take them to the vet. -Beck.
