In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Suprise!

So, I have been contemplating getting out of boas for a little while now. Just long enough for me to finish the remodeling of our home and get my snake room built. But, then there was "the suprise"! I came home from a date with my wife and seen a baby in the enclosure with my super hypo female. It took me a few minutes of staring to figure out what was going on here. See, its been 2 years since I have done any breeding, so when I paired my super hypo jungle to my super hypo close to 5 months ago, I didn't see much action and had little hope to anything coming from it. Also considering this was her first breeding, lets just say I didn't expect much. So after the bit of shock went away, I conjured up a plan to remove the female from the enclosure. Let me tell you something, I have NEVER had a female act so darn aggressive after giving birth. Don't get me wrong, I have had some fussy girls, but this one was almost demonic! After what seemed like hours, I removed the female from the enclosure and then it happened, the disappointment. She had crushed almost 6 babies - dead. What little ones were not crushed were beautiful, but there was something weird going on with a few. I gathered them up, 9 total that were still a live. I placed them in my regular tub I have always used and let them be overnight. Next day I examined them. I had already lost 2, and 1 was not far behind. Of course its always the best looking ones that either die or have problems. 3 babies have kinks in there necks, within a few inches of there head. 1 is barely noticeable and it moves fine, the other 2 are pretty bad. 1 of the kink neck babies died before I got home. So as of today I have 5 left. All seem healthy except for the 1 kink neck baby. I will post individual pictures soon and once these are posted I will let others help me decide what to do (please don't tell me now). Sorry for the rant, had to get this off my chest. Whats the point to this "book" I have typed up here? Starting to rethink this whole "getting out of boas" thing. Thanks for looking!

Wow, what a shocker to find! You handled it well. Are you sure she crushed those six babies, or did they die naturally and she just treated them as substrate afterwards? Glad to hear a few look healthy -- any breeding from which the parents emerge healthy is a victory, and babies are just a bonus!

There was evidence that they were alive atleast at one point, but I know what you mean. Could of been a mixture of the two.

At least they are some cool and different looking babies. Congrats jeremy

Here are some individual pictures of my favorites here.

This is the one with the "kink", which we call him cat. He is faster than any other baby I have dealt with, it might be because he can walk like a caterpillar. Let me know what you think of this deformity. I had planned on waiting for cat to shed, then try one meal and decide what to do from there. I might have to put him down. :(

Clearly more than a minor deformity but IMO still worth seeing what will come of him. If he can eat, poop and shed somewhat normally then he could make someone a nice pet.

If not, then you already know what you have to do. One of the sucky aspects of breeding but a responsibility we all take on each and every time we allow males and females to be together.

Exactly. I appreciate what you said. I know I probably won't like to hear what everyone may say about it, but IMO if he can function as any other snake than he still could make a great pet.

I agree with April as well.

Beautiful babies but we don't need more pretty pets. There are enough and that one is pretty kinked.

I wish all your little ones the best, they are super neat! :)

That animal should have been dispatched on first sight. It's ok to abort humans and not crippled up serpants ?

I don't feel its okay to abort humans. I already had plans of putting this one down. But, do we put down a 3 legged dog? 2 legged turtle? A gold fish with no swim bladder? No, not always. The only reason I posted this little fella on here was to get an insight on what to do IF anyone thought he could survive. You aren't here to see it in person, you would of thought he wouldn't be able to move, drink, eat etc, but it was amazing what he could do. :(
