In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi Frank,
It is pretty cool to see how far they have come.

Albey,
I agree and am pretty amazed at what has developed in the last 3 years alone. I can't wait to see what some of the Mack Snow ans Super Snow outcrosses that alot of people are hatching are going to develop into as adults. It is a very exciting time to be working with Leos in general. There are so many morphs out there and so many new things being worked on that it is almost hard to keep up with all of the terminology regarding the new morphs.

WEll, I guess since I'm young I missed out on all the good years. LOL. I did start my fiascos with leos however right around the time blazing blizzards were in the 2000 dollar range. And I bet some of you breeders are really missing those days. I would too if i had animals going for 2K a pop. Its nice to be able to remember when the striking colors like your animals Albey, as an example at hand, and others like Dans Red Stripes, the RAPTORS, electra tangs, and im positive im missin a few others, were never around and the animals were yellow-orange at best. And seeing how far the hypos have come in your comparison picture, holy cow. Thanks for the history lesson albey and others, and thanks for the pics.

[As for Doug, I think you are getting two of them confused. I believe you are talking about Doug Beard of Flora and Fauna who is also a friend of mine. He has great Ball Pythons and I hope to be purchasing from him some time soon. I am talking about Doug and Mikki Barr of B.A.R.R.s Reptiles. – http://www.barrs.com/index.html He has stated to me a number of times that he sold Bill much of his original stock.]
Wow, you're absolutely right. I saw Doug B. and the old brain went haywire. I bought superhypos with bold head patterns from the Barrs at Orlando a year or two before Bill had all those big chunky ones for sale. They didn't have much color but were super clean, and they didn't have very many of them at any given time. A gentleman named Ron Hatcher sold me our first stripe and our first pair of "orange" ones at the first Tampa show, the stripe had to be from Ron but don't know where the orangeish ones came from.

Wow!! I didn't follow up with this thread for a few days due to the undaunting task of bailing people out of there homes with my canoe. LOL It is unreal the things that people think they can fit on a really small Canoe. Imagine what they do to their cars? :) Thanks to all esp. Dan and Albey for turning this thread in to such an informative piece of literature. It should be even more exciting as time goes on. with all the crazy geckos I'm seeing now. I once saw a paraphrase that read "Leopard geckos are quickly becoming the koi karp of the reptile world" well move over koi karp we got somethin for ya!!
:hehe: Wow !! ... sry.. seeing way to many flopping fish these days. :hehe:
everywhere I look it's a -faith no more- music video..... !disturbing! :ack2:

Hi Ian,
I hope you don’t mind us kind of hijacking your thread but most of the post does kind of explain what the Florida strain is about. LOL

Wow, what a great thread. We should have a section of Fauna dedicated to the "Old Timers" where they can tell stories, show pictures of the originals, etc.

Thanks Dan & Albey for this great thread!

Yes, you did miss out on some good years but there are many good and exciting years to come.... In a few years you will be sitting back saying, "Hey, remember what the first mack super snows looked like??? Look how how far they have come...."

With the amount of captive breeding, there is no telling what new recessive, co-dominant, incomplete dominant, incomplete recessive, genetics will pop up at a given time.....

There may be a slow spot here and there but it can only get better....

Hi Jeanne,
I realize I may be considered an “Old Timer” but I would rather create some new stories rather than tell them. :hehe:
