• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Tegu gestation

The gestation period for Argentine tegus is anywhere from 55-80 days. The reason I say this is it depends on the temperatures they are incubated at. The temps can range from 70* to 105*. the colder the incubation temperature, the longer the incubation time. The optimum temperature is 90*, at this temperature the eggs will hatch between 60-70 days. Argentine tegus will hatch in the hottest part of the day, when the temps are the highest. The eggs also have a lot of pressure in them. When the hatchlings cut the egg fluid will squirt out.

Thanks for the reply. I'm taking them out of brumation soon. I should have made myself more clear. Although your info was helpful and needed also. I was meaning from the time they copulate to the time they lay. Thanks

Matthew, the information I got on this was from Bert at Agama. In one of our many conversations, I asked the same question. Bert said, the female will start building a nest within ten days after copulation has ended. And to answer the rest of the question. Bert said it is not long at all before she lays her clutch. I asked him, what is the time frame, his answer (not long). His reply was, within days. I will be keeping track of mine this year, and will document these time frames. Sorry I could not be more helpful.

Your question above was very valid, and to the point. I was sleepy when I tried to answer your question. I had incubation in the back of my mind, and not gestation. I am awake now, lol. :erm: :)

No problem, more than glad to help!!
