    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

i know you can get them online, but i will not..
At sears their 70$ and sportsauthority has a dig. probe for 15$
But will an average human digital thermostat work for getting temp.s at diff. spots in the cage...
Also, will one of those ear thermostats work for getting different temp.s on the bask spot.. etc...
Please, can someone try before i go out and buy one..?

The problem with thermometers designed for humans is that they sometimes don't register the temps needed for bearded dragons. Most i have seen top out at 105-106. If your looking for a hot spot of of 110 and the thermometer is maxed out you have no way of telling if it's 110 or 125. Also on the low end you have no way of telling if your cool zone is too cold because your thermometer won't register anything below 84. I know some digital thermometers detect higher and lower temps but most have a tip that must be inserted into something. If your needed to get the temp of your basking area, your out of luck.

I really suggest investing in a detection device designed for reptiles or spending the extra money on a device that detects a wider range of surface and air temps. It really is a good investment which just may save your animals life.

Better safe than sorry............
