In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'll make it $100.... Ooopps, thought this was another auction.

I agree Robin. The support has been great.

Gonna go find something else to bid on. LOL :hehe:

I agree the outpouring of support has been tremendous. It’s not just leo people either which makes it even better. . .

Looking at those auctions Jeremy I'd think you had an endless supply of cash! What haven't you bid on yet?! LOL

Robin - this kind of goes to that other thread. I couldn't be prouder to be part of this community. It's good to know that dispite our differences, we can come together in a time of need.

On the contrary Brian, every penny is precious. This however goes beyond my needs.

I did it again… You know what I mean. :)
Of course I do. That wasn't intended as a dig. I was *trying* to point out that we are human beings first, and anything else after that. As a (human) parent I am filled with sadness over this tragedy. That's what I meant. I think that applies to many here. Surely we read and hear about situations like this every day in the newspaper or hear about them on the news. That's always sad but is somewhat depersonalized. When it happens to someone "real" it touches in a place that hurts.

its amazing..the hayden fund here, kingsnake, reptile forums and several personal websites it is all so unreal the tremendous outpouring the ... putting aside any personal issues and coming together as en entire comunity... not just from here but from all over.... its just amazing the generosity. for three days i have been on the phone with people from all over, people i don't know and the prayers and them wanting updates and everything is unreal... people from all over the world, people who do not even know Kelli or hr family... it's truly a testament which shows true humanity ans selflessness

This is exactly what I meant in my thread. It is amazing to see the outreach of so many. It as been a truely sad week with some amazing outcomes. Makes me very proud to be a part of such a wonderful comunity.

a sermon? hmmm...

People never cease to amaze me. Tragedy seems to be able to bring out the best in people; when we can shed our thick skin and reveal our soft underbelly... vulnerable to the world. I believe every single person who has heard of this bitter tragedy has, if for an instant, felt the icy grip in the pits of their stomachs at the thought of this unbearable loss. Compassion. Empathy. Fear.

Yet it is by way of tragedy of this magnitude that we can give of ourselves to those who have given so much to us. We are able to put aside our superficial and political agendas to do anything that would make a difference in the lives of those whom we hold dear. Somehow, the inequity of what we can give pales to what is needed... and what is needed cannot be had.

Very true Marcia, couldn't be any closer to the truth. Like I said in another thread, I am so glad to be a part of Fauna, not just the Leo community. It warmed my heart to see how everyone put their differences aside to help a friend in need.

Thank you to Fauna!

Once again Marcia has put into words what most of us cannot. I have to laugh whenever someone posts a feeble attempt at showing that she's wrong, whatever the topic.

I sent a mass email out to family and friends directing them to my web site which has the links for donations and the Hayden fund auctions. Everyone responded back with some comment( hoping some of them donated even a little bit too). I think it was a reality check for all of us. It makes you realize how precious, and fleeting, life can be. It still leaves me speechless when I think about what happened. I think everything, no matter how small or big, that everyone has done is just amazing!
