    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Springtails and Culturing Supplies at Josh's Frogs!
Springtails (Collembola species) are soil isopods that measure approximately 1/32 of an inch. Springtails serve as vivarium janitors, consuming organic materials and making them available to plants. Springtails also will reproduce in the vivarium, and serve as an additional source of food for some vivarium inhabitants, such as dart frogs. Josh's Frogs offers temperate springtails that are bred at our facility. Temperate springtails are perfect for adding to the vivarium as janitors and an extra source of food. Temperate Springtail (Colombella) Culture (32 oz)
Springtails are tiny arthropods (1-4 mm) and make a great supplimental food for your poison dart frogs. When you seed your tanks with springtails they will reproduce in your terrarium eating mold/fungus. Simply dump the entire culture in your terrarium and mix the charcoal in the springtail culture right into your substrate.

One culture can seed 2-4 terrariums. Cultures are started 1-2 weeks before shipping.

Feed weekly with Josh's Frogs Spring to Life Springtail Food If you are not seeding terrariums, we recommend that you buy a starter culture and use it start a larger culture (we use 5 qt. sterilite containers). Larger cultures produce better and are less prone to CO2 buildup. If you use this culture to start a larger culture to feed froglets or seed multiple tanks, allow the culture to grow for a month before use.
