    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

Well, as I hinted to in richardhind1972's thread the other day, I kinda made a deal on something new... or more accurately, a pair of new somethings.

I was trying to wait, but I've seen these two for sale for months now and I talked the seller down to a price I was happy with. So the deal has been made and paid (don't tell the wife yet, lol).

The first one is a male 2018 red pastel sharp sunglow. The second is his sister, a red pastel hypo 100% het sharp.

Now the real struggle is waiting on the weather to warm up enough to have them shipped to me... :nuts: :nuts:

I agree with the struggle. Worse is you not waiting for a solid date, but rather an unknown 'warm' weather date most likely. Nice boas by the way.

Beautiful new additions!
Love the color saturation on that female's tail

Congrats on the new additions, and my condolences for the proceeding days that will seem to take forever to pass till you get them home.

Beautiful snakes!! When are you going to spill the news to the wife?

Thanks, all. Yeah, the worst part of the wait really is the unknown length. I keep finding myself looking at the extended forecasts like they're going to magically change. Lol.

The one plus side to the wait does give me a bit more time to break the news to my wife that the plan to look for an img has changed (more just on hold for the moment, as I have a potential lead for one locally if/when he successfully breeds his male).

I'm easing her into it. Lol. She actually already brought up the idea of bringing something new home soon on her own yesterday on our way to dinner. But I'm pretty sure she was thinking an img or a nice female cali king to pair with one of her males.

She does enjoy our boas, but she's more interested in the darker localities and morphs than ones like this pair.

Congrats Chase.[emoji481]

That is a beautiful pair of boas.

Thanks. Pretty excited about this pair.

If the pair I have together right now proves out for at least blood (and hopefully type 2 anery), crossing in this bloodline should make for some stellar results!

Just a quick update. The struggle is definitely ongoing... The weather was warm enough last week for a couple days, but we decided to wait and I'm glad we did. The blizzard in the Midwest caused quite a few shipping issues during that time frame (thankfully not many involving animals that I know of).

On another note, the wife does know now and is cool with it (as evidenced by the fact that I still appear to be alive and have all of my limbs... lol).

Now it's just a continuation of the waiting game... I don't think I've been so ready for real spring weather in my life!!!

FINALLY!! Picked these beauties up at the FedEx depot today.

As always seems to be the case, the pictures didn't do them justice. The Male is more purple/lavender than a good number of the purple-line sharps I see going for top dollar. The female is drenched in red and pink.

Here are a few shots of both that I took before I put them in their quarantine tubs. They dont do them justice either... I can't wait for them to settle in a bit and to have a nice warm but overcast day.

Thanks Richard! Though I realized over the weekend that the seller shipped me the wrong female... the one I was supposed to get is even more colorful. I've already been in contact with him and he's making it right. Since I fed this one on Saturday (thawed an extra hopper and didn't want to waste it) we're waiting until early next week to make the exchange. I'll be posting about it in the boi once all is settled, especially if things continue to go this smoothly. Not enough people make posts about honest mistakes that get settled the right way, and I think that shows the character of those involved much more clearly than just a "smooth transaction" type post.

That's good that it's being sorted, people are too quick to judge as you say , mistakes happen in life and as long as its amicable, there no worries, still stunning tho
