    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

The Wait Seems To Last Forever!

Here is an update. These photos were taken 9 days ago. At the time of these photos she had 60 days till her due date. She is only about half way there. She is getting bigger by the day. At first I was guessing between 20 and 25 babies. But now at her size I am guessing more around 35-40. You just never know though. Breeding boas is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get. I'm hoping for the best.

Wanna hear something funny. My girl hasn't dropped yet! She is massive, but I guess in the move I got her info mixed up because what I had figured up was the end of Feb she would drop. Its now March 18th and nothing. Moving from one house to another got me all mixed up I guess. Post when she has them and I will do the same.

lol. That kinda sucks. Now it will be even more of a supprise when you see babies in her cage. Don't even have time frame. My girl has 35 days till her due date. I will continue to update everyone with photos.

Has she started to reduce in size yet? It seems like my females always reduce in size a little when its getting close. I don't recall how soon before they drop when that happens. Mine has a little. I guess as the young absorb more of the yold/fluids is when she shrinks in size a little. Ever notice that? Whats you experience with that?

It has been about 3 years since I last bred BCI's. So I am having a hard time recalling the details. Very recently, she appears to be reducing in size. I remember that being a common observation, I just don't remember when it begins to happen. In her case, around the last 30 days. The mass also appears to be moving further down her body and becoming less elongated. Needless to say, Being 3 years since my last breeding attempt, I am very excited. I am hoping for a nice healthy litter. How are yours coming along?

Well, she has noticeable reduced her size, but her girth has been further down for a couple weeks now, that seemed to come before the size reduction. I stayed up late last night watching her, I was 99.9% sure she was going to have them. She was stretched out along the whole front of the cage, and about every 30 seconds or so she would kinda spaz out and pull really tight "s" curves, which is what they do when they deliver them. She has had labored breathing for a few weeks now, breathing really heavy and LOUD. She is huge though, I feel sorry for her. I bet my wife she would have them by the end of March, and if she doesn't I am going to go crazy. The last time a male was with her was in late December, which she had ovulated by that time. Late Oct or early Nov is what I am guessing her last shed was, I lost my records so I just don't know. I promise you will know the day after she has them.

I think I read somewhere that the reduction in size might have to do with the absorption of the yolk before parturition. Where they born with the yolk already in their gut, or still attached to it? Just curious.

You would be right. And last years litter, 24 of them, some had a little left in there gut, but not many, more of them had it attached from the outside. All survived. I was neverous my first time of the "solidified yolk syndrom" which Jeff Ronne Sr teaches about. I never had a problem though, all were kept on moist paper towls with a good heat source.

A nice soft yellow yolk should be allowed to absorb. It don't take but a little while. A somewhat harder whiter looking yolk should be detached.

That's what I go by anyway. I think the yolk is a valuable first meal. Some people detach them regardless, and they do just fine.

I didn't detach them. I didn't mess with any of them. I figure mother nature would take care of itself and I would only intervene at that point of needed. After a couple days they had disconnected by themselves.

I know I just did an update yesterday, but she was laying in a good position today for some nice photos. Figured I would share and include them in this thread.

Fresh Update.... 20 days left. Took a new photo today. You can't tell from the photo, but her "mass" is moving further down her body. The "mass" also appears to be getting smaller. This is a common observation. The mass will appear to get smaller as the babies use up their yolk. Getting really close now. Less than 3 weeks left:D. Needless to say, I am getting really anxious. I will continue to update periodically. Enjoy!
