In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Thinking about trying something out here...

I am afraid that 1 negative posting, can do alot more harm to a persons reputation, than 5 positive posts can erase. When I read the different threads here, I give the people responding, different amounts of "weight". Some people have earned a degree of respect here (from me), just from the manner in which they post. And I give their responses more attention. If they were all annonymous, then Jesse Underhill would have the same "weight", as say........Rich Z. or....Jeff R. etc....

I like the idea. If the poll shows a negative vote I would then go to the BOI and look at any comments to determine if I feel they are valid. I think it is a good way to raise a flag to anyone interested in finding information about a prospective seller. There may be some draw backs but I think that we will eventually work through them. Thanks for trying to come up with a quick way to check out a person.

I have decided to implement this feature, but it won't happen until I move this system over to the vBulletin style of message board.  I expect this will take place in mid to late November.

Thanks for the input.

Will it show who voted as what?

Because as of right now I know I will have at least three negative votes.
1. Jesse underhill
2. Jon and Katie Larson
3.  Tony Khamjoi
These are all the same person

This is a tough one buddy but here are my two cents worthless as they may be.

I think you should set something up to set people apart that are doing good and not focus on the bad.  Like, start a small thing up like eBay were the breeders that want to stand out sign up and put the link on their front page.  People thinking of doing business with them will see they're willing to go the extra mile if something does come up.

The error I see in what you propose is 1) there's too much room for abuse thought friends or what not. 2) It doesn't give enough choices.

Bad would mean what?  Bad shipper, slow shipper, sick snakes, dead snakes, no shipping?  I would be willing to do business with a slow shipper but not a no shipper.

I think you're on the right track.  I've been thinking for a long time about the idea I mentioned.  I've even sent people to my eBay account to see my feedback so that can even be usefull.

Keep it up!

I still think it allows for too much abuse and can hurt someone's business without any justification.  Look at the latest thread about Rob K--the guy admitted to making it up--ie, giving a bad guy post without any reason.
The poll system, being anonymous, can allow for people with personal grudges or even nasty competitors to post "worst guy" without ever giving a name or backing it up.  Some new buyer will see that and it can tarnish their view of the business without any justification.
Not to mention miscommunication, shipping error, people not reading the policies correctly.  I think it could be very damaging.  Besides, as a seller, if someone posted a "bad guy" post about me, I'd like to know why or what the problem was, or how to improve.
I still say that I like the BOI the way it is.  People who are really serious about buying/selling will read through the threads and be able to make up their minds a lot better than just a poll which can be very misleading.
And for sellers, it is only fair for someone to justify why they post "bad guy".  Too often, it is unfounded.
Thanks
Dana
