    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have a young western hog nose whose eyes are beginning to fog. (not sure how old, since the pet store said it had been surrendered to them after not eating, then they finally got it to eat after several weeks of trying, which I don't entirely understand, since it eats perfectly fine for me. Also was considered "aggressive" and had been there five months or so since no one wanted it. When the lady took him out she was bitten, but he's so small, only about 7 inches long, she just blew it off since she didn't feel a fang. But again, I have had little to no trouble after giving it a proper inclosure., and handling every day, I have never had him even puff up at me! I wish pet stores weren't so ignorant, but that's another thread entirely ;))

I know the fogging means it's getting ready to shed, but my concern is should I feed it before? He's acting so hungry, and this is the day I usually feed, but I don't want to screw up the shedding process, since I hear you aren't really supposed to feed before or after, I'm just not sure how long before or after!

You can offer in shed & if they eat it wont effect there shedding. Most wont eat durring that time but there are a few that will. Good luck!!

Thank you so much for the reply! I just wasn't sure if it had to do with the shedding itself, but it does make sense not to put anything live in with a snake not willing to eat, I've seen horrible things happen that way! That's why I feed frozen pinkies :p

Mine hognose will stop whatever he's doing shed or not, hungry or not, to eat. If I let him he'd weight a full pound and be perfectly round by now if I fed him as much as he wanted. ;)
