In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

OMG , I'm slowly getting this new rack set up and I'm noticing
the temps are jacked up !!
The top tub isn't heating like the 2nd and 3rd , it's running
almost 10° cooler.
I'm sick to my stomach right now, I'm going to contact the
distributor to see what they think the issue might be.
In the meantime has anyone ever encounter a problem
like this ??, can it be fixed

We need some more information before we can help you figure this out.

1. What type of rack is it?
2. What kind of heating does it have?
3. What kind of thermostat are you using? Where do you have the probe located?
4. What is the layout of the room you have the rack in?

Please post photos if you can. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Sorry , won't be able to send pics but I will tell you some of the specifics.
It's a 3 tub rack from Beegerboxes, 41qt tubs.The heat is flex watt 12"×16".
I have been tweeking it a bit and getting them much closer.
The T-stat is an on/off made by ZILLA, not the best but it has worked fine
for me on tubs in the past.
I have the top 2 tubs set up so far and with hides the warm ends are 90° & 92°.
The probe is set up on the heat tape , outside of the tub on the 2nd shelf.
I will set up the 3rd tub tonight and see if I can get them dialed in,
within 1 or 2 degrees.

I've found that if the bottom of a particular tub is bowed versus flat, the flat one sits closer to the heat tape and you'll get a higher temperature reading from it.

Also make sure you're reading the tub temperature without any kind of substrate on it, including paper. Dry paper can float just slightly above the floor of the tub, and that air gap will also give you a lower reading than you'd expect.

I just got home , they are within
.3 of each other , I'm good with that !!!
There isn't any substrate in the hides but I think
one hide had a snake in it and the other didn't so
that could have been what was keeping
them at different temps.
It's good now and that's all that matters.
Thanks for the pointers :)

Glad you got it all figured out. Setting up a rack properly can take some time and practice!
