In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

uhh...Houston, we have a problem -

A couple of days ago, I moved some ASF rats into a different box. I went downstairs this morning to see this:

Lest there be any doubts - they ARE sitting on top of the cage...in the food hopper.

Luckily, all are present and accounted for...and now residing in their previous box.

This isn't another spray bottle incident is it?

Are you sure you put them back right after the move?

Nope, not a spray bottle incident (that was right upstairs where it was supposed to be - but I will admit that I noticed there was a bit of a gap along the top of that new box...It is now housing an adult male rat that I am quite sure cannot squeeze out.

Um, I don't know anything about ASF rats, other than what I just saw in your pic, but it looks like one of those things is not like the others.....Namely, the one with the camera-induced red-eye toward the back, in profile. Looks a little different to me?

How are their temperaments in comparision to our common feeder rats?

Not sure how Haralds are but some of these can be very nasty.

OK thanks! :)

I'll research them...I am supposed to pick up a few at the Chantilly show (to coax my difficult hatchling feeders) and wanted to know a bit more about them.

I'm not going to be there, Steph. And from what the person I got them from said, he wasn't expecting to have any more until AFTER the Hamburg show (though he did acknowledge that the person HE gets them from might be able to bring him a few the day of the show).

Triplemoon: if you want some, I am sure I can get some. Talk to the hubby. If someone pays for the food I will keep a large rack going. I don't mind the work, I just hate flipping the bills for stuff I won't use.

Hi Gary!
You should have heard Chris when he got back and saw the rats in the kitchen! Made me CO2 them right away. Though I still have 1 of the cute little Lilac ones that I didn't want to do just yet. :D
If you think you can handle the work load, we'll have to make an arrangement for you to supply me with rats every month. I'll have to count up an average of what I'd need and pm it to you.
Look for it shortly! :)

I have 3 really pretty tans, I am gonna use to breed. I have 2 trios of dwarfs I hope pan out, I would like to have an entire rack of dwarfs.

Funny thing is, I got into rats because of my boas. I enjoy the rats as much as the snakes.

Keep your eye out for an anery female for me please....the bigger the better. A breeder would be golden!!!!
