In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

So I hear the driveway alarm and then watch the video monitor on the garage to see the UPS truck coming up the driveway. He doesn't park on the garage apron, so I think he is being courteous by not putting that heavy truck on the concrete. He gets out of the truck and I notice he is also carrying a large plastic bag. I had ordered a movie set (Fast & Furious 8 movie set) and was expecting delivery today.

Anyway, the driver apparently was too lazy to walk to the house, so he wraps the package in that plastic bag and then sets it in front of my garage on the apron. Bad enough that it is in full sun there and the temp is hitting 95 degrees in the shade, but he places the darn thing right under the exhaust vent from the portable AC unit I have running in the garage. So that is blowing even hotter air right on it. So I rushed out the door. If he heard me yelling "DUMBASS!!" at him, he didn't stop.

So how long do you think it would have taken for the heat to have warped all those plastic disks and ruined them? It was already pretty warm to the touch by the time I got out there to retrieve the package.

I sent UPS a nasty gram detailing the bone headed thing this driver did, but if the past is any guide, they just put any such complaints right into the round file. Don't they bother to check new hires for brains any longer? Had we not been home that package would have set out there in direct sunlight and the heat from the AC exhaust for a few hours.

Anyway, I told UPS in my email to them that if they can't bother to deliver the packages to my home, then don't bother coming around here at all. Connie already worries that they are going to run over her lizards in the driveway as it is.

Lordy I am glad I don't have to worry about shipping live animals any longer. Maybe my getting older has just gotten me being less and less patient with people, but I swear it seems the drivers for all of the delivery services are getting dumber and dumber each year. IMHO.

Wasn't too long ago that I had to fight with FedEx to convince them that leaving packages down by the gate at the end of my driveway with sometimes hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise in them really wasn't a very smart thing to do.

Anyway, grrrrrrrr..... :hot:

Last year around Christmas everyone was amazed at two day shipping. That is old news, it is now one day shipping or even same day delivery. I think that businesses have factored in the costs of dumbass delivery guys as a cost of doing business and probably found that even with the dumbasses their profits are increasing by forcing faster deliveries.
Those are some might purty lizards you have in the driveway, I hope there is something that can be done to make their little lives safer.
