In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

venus fly traps

the venus flys you get at the store all come from splicings from one species, they are useally root bound and in no shape to live. Find a breeder and you will be much happier!

A friend of mine is a breeder of all types of carniverious plants some are amazing!

WhOa Now I am considering buying one I have always been fasinated by them didnt really think of a place to buy them at and now thanks to the ad(furrylildevils)i will consider buying one thankz

No problem

I love mine.

And the varieties you can get are out of this world. I honestly consider my plants pets!!! I feed them, water them, buy them new houses, all the same stuff I do for my dragons. :)

carniverious plants can be amazing!

check out the Pitcher Plants,

I am thinking about working with my friend Phil who raises only Carniverious plants and has created many new morphs of them himself to sell some of them through MorphTiles.com

I got my fly traps from a store. I did get them early in the year. And they are doing every well.

I know the longer they stay in the store, the unhappier they will be. The store doesn't give them any water or sunlight. :(

flytraps

Do I have to let my flytraps go dormant?

Can I get a plant light and let them grow all winter long?

thanks : )

Dorothy

You don't have to. As long as they get the light, nutrients, warmth and water they need they should be fine all winter.

You may have one or 2 that go dormant anyway though. :)

thanks.

Will they grow in the winter?

they are now eating ants that I find outside. I kill the ants before I feed them to my pets (flytraps).

But what can I feed them in the winter? Or should I not feed them in the winter?

thanks

Dorothy

If you keep them at "summer" levels of heat, water and food they should continue growing all winter long. :)

You can order ants online from a few diffrent insect suppliers.

That way they can have food year round!!! :hehe:

What I found to be cheapest was order an ant farm kit. Then feed out of that. You can either let them establish a colony or order ant refill kits.

Everything can be found here.

Thank.

How hard is it to keep the ants alive?

I have heard it is hard to keep them alive and to get them out of the farm.

thanks

Dorothy

The kit comes with food, instructions and everything you will need to know to keep them alive.

As far as getting them out I always put a straw in there and let them climb into it. Once inside, I dropped the ant into the trap.

would the ants be easier than fruit flies?

What would happen if I didn't feed the flytraps all winter?

I live in Pittsburgh, Pa., So I will not find ants until about April.

thanks
