    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

is there any laws in southern california about walking your moniter around the neighborhood on a leash. my moniter is only 1 ft.

i dont think thiers any laws about it but i wouldnt suggest it wat i used to do with my iguana is just hook his leash to something so while i was watching tv or something he could just roam around a little bit but walking your moniter around town is just asking for something bad to happen.

i still dont really think its a good idea, theirs endless possiblilities of bad things that could happen. I mean it sounds like you really want to do it and i cant stop you from walking ur moniter i just dont think that its a very good idea.

There are no laws as long as you are able to secure the reptile (leash?). The biggest thing is that your responsible on how/when you do it. Many people are scared of large reptiles so make sure you are able to control the reptile and keep him from people that have no desire to meet with them.

I agree with what Daniel said. Exposing the unsuspecting, "general public" to herps is part of what causes the laws that prevent some of us from being able to keep the animals we love.

Whether it is "fair" or not that a dog owner can take his loved one for a walk around the block is not the issue (I illustrate this example because people love to jump on it immediately. Let's get that issue behind us.). Herpers must learn to display their pets in a responsible manner. Taking a snake or lizard out for a stroll in a neighborhood or park is going to cause problems. If you really want to take him outside for some exercise, what is wrong with your back yard? Taking the monitor out for a walk in the neighborhood is a cry for attention not necessary exercise for your pet.

There may well be city ordinances that prohibit you from having that animal without some sort of permit.

Best to stay low profile as a rule.

It doesn't work very well. Worst case scenario, the monitor runs somewhere you can't follow and gets all tangled up on the leash and you can't get it out, or you have to let go of the leash to reach the monitor and loose the monitor as it runs off. Best case scenario ends up with you getting run ragged and your monitor getting stressed out and pissed off.

I take it back, the true worst case scenario is some of your neighbors getting terrified of your pet and pressing the city council to pass laws restricting the ownership of reptiles. Then you loose your monitor and no one else can have any either.

The how about putting together an outdoor enclosure for him to run around in during weather appropriate days?
