    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Check snopes, it's a LONG running hoax email. Sometimes it says florida, and sometimes it's accompanied with gator pictures, and sometimes it's set in texas.
Neat picture, but hoax text.

The link has a gator pic, so guessing its that hoax, thanks Theresa.

Still wouldn't like to come across those guys without some warning though :eek:

Oh I definately saved the picture when I first got the email, wherever the pic is from, whether it's staged or not, it's a grand picture of some nice rattlers.

Dang... I never realized we had such a large population of western diamondbacks and prairie rattlesnakes here in the Sunshine State. :rofl:

My thoughts exactly Ken. They are not EDBs, lol.

You see I'm new here, to the States, so I have no idea what lives where :eek: ... You could have colonies of pink fairies living in the everglades and I wouldn't be aware of it :D

They're in Key West.

Imagine someone working for the state doing pipe maintainence. They'd be in for a little surprise.

Actually the pink fairie(or dilute red fairie as we purists prefer to more correctly call them) habitat is nearly gone in the Florida Keys. Now they only exist in a few captive breeding situations, although some reports of alledged spotting of wild specimans continue to be gathered. The consumption of large amounts of dacquris seem to assist in spotting these wild specimans.

Not seeing the WDBs or Prairies in there. They look to be Hopis... Crotalus viridis nuntius.

I know this is an old post, but just had to add...

Once when I was pretty young, maybe 6 or 7 so this would have been about 1977 or, my friend's dad took us to a Rattlesnake Rodeo. I don't remember all that much, but I do remember that there were barrels that had glass or maybe plexiglass on top. These barrels were just chockfull of snakes. Looked just about like that. Later in the day they had this sort of boxing ring set up and men would walk around while other guys would pile rattlers on their arms. Still others were standing around with what I thought were sticks and hoes (maybe hooks?) and shoving any snakes that tried to go over the edge back onto the platform. In retrospect, this was probably one of the least safe things I can imagine taking a child too. I mean, let's annoy hundreds of rattlesnakes and see what happens! Fun for the whole family!
