WARNING: Matt Edmonds from Richardson TX-BAD GUY!

I wouldn't have put this up if I wasn't sure it was him. I also have an email as late as 2006 from him where he would send me links to pictures of him so I've seen plenty of pictures of him too. I don't know why he would do this other than to remind me what he got away with. I know these emails weren't just sent to all his contacts as the email titles would be something like "retics ".

Can you list the email address(es) used please?

On a positive note for Matt - I sold him a retic pre-ban and agreed to do a payment plan based on the good he's done for the community in order to pay it forward and keep the support going. The retic was shipped sometime in March, and full payment was later received as funds were available from him. I'm not here to stand as a fan boy or someone backing up the person in question more than what it is.

There are holes to both stories, and both stories could in fact be "mostly" true, while being entirely wrong at the same time. If Matt's email was compromised as led to believe during that time, a friend or even an acquaintance could have seen it as an opportunity to make a quick scam using his friends email left open. . .

I truly believe if this was actually Matt in the arrogance of his youth, he would own up to it now and send funds to cover the mishap and not belittle his growing reputation in the community of giant keepers.

I will do my best to explain things.

1. First of all, matttheretic below has the same email address that was used by the Matt Edmonds I first posted about in 2003. I've already posted screen shots of this and can post additional screen shots of the actual emails as well.

2. Matt did pm me on this back on December 26th, 2014. He pmed because I happened to see him posting on a facebook group called USA Burmese python keepers and realized this is probably the same Matt Edmonds that stole from me. I looked at his profile on facebook, and based on his age and pictures, I was pretty sure he was the same guy. So, I asked him if he was the same Matt Edmonds that stole retics from me? He said no, and it was about this time he pmed me. After he said that I went through the old emails I had saved from this in 2003-2004 and found the email address he was using when he ripped me off. I then put that email address into the facebook search thinking it was a long shot he still used this email account, but sure enough his facebook page popped right up. In my mind, I busted him with this information, and saw no reason to respond to his bs private message.

3. Since this time last year. Matt has changed his facebook email, and know refers to the email account [email protected] as his old email. You can decide for yourself if this is some how incriminating or not. I personally think so.

4. The other interesting thing that happened when I proved Matt Edmonds on facebook had the same email address as the Matt Edmonds that ripped me off is he claims to have been kicked out of the USA Burmese python keepers group on Facebook. All the moderators there say he was not booted and he quit. These moderators have no reason to lie. To this day he still claims they kicked him off the group, even though they showed earlier today he is not on the block list.

5. A few days ago, right before I first started updating this thread I again got into it with Matt Edmonds over this. He had mentioned some negative retic BS in one of his videos and told people not to listen to it. I then asked if he meant me and, he then went on to claim he did not steal from me, and said he never lived in Richardson Texas, and that the email account that was used, was his, but its an old one account and he thought it got hacked. I can understand if his email account got hack, but why use his account when you can just make up your own fake account. Also, as you will see in the emails I post, why would someone hack Matt's email account and keep logging on there for over a year to defend him. Matt claims he had very limited PC use at this time.

6. If you look at the public records sites on the internet you will find that there was in fact a Matt Edmonds that lived in Richardson Texas. He also is 32 years old and has the middle name James just like the Matt Edmonds on Facebook.

I'll start posting emails and other evidence below and you can decide for your self if Matt's story makes any sense.

When you read the emails above please keep in mind matt does admit that this is his email address sending these emails, but say he is not the one sending them. You will notice the dates on these emails are not that close so that would mean whoever hacked his email kept logging on for over a year to defend matt.

I hate to say it but it is pretty obvious. Little things like always typing "#" instead of "number" and "$" instead of "money" stand out like a sore thumb.

I do have to question why you waited 13 years when he's in the public eye to even bring this up again? It could be him or it could have been someone who hacked his email or was using it without his knowledge, you can delete emails before the other person ever sees them, I did have my fiances email in my phone for quite some time can't remember why we did that but we did and I finally removed it because I was sick of all the Facebook notifications and such, but just saying it's that easy to control someone's email.

And by controlling their email you can see their typing style. Not saying he's innocent or guilty, just a different perspective. Again waiting so long and when he's everywhere fighting for against the Lacey act and all that it just seems strange it would come up now, 13 years after the "incident"

It could be him or it could have been someone who hacked his email or was using it without his knowledge, you can delete emails before the other person ever sees them, I did have my fiances email in my phone for quite some time can't remember why we did that but we did and I finally removed it because I was sick of all the Facebook notifications and such, but just saying it's that easy to control someone's email.

The videos were mostly of him talking about the retic ban, and I didn't feel the need to post anymore comments about our deal until he recently posted a video 3-4 days ago saying something about the negative crap about him and the retics going around on google were not true. I confronted him with a post, he said it never happened and that my story made no sense. It snowballed from there with more and more of his lies and I then felt the need to post all that here.

I personally think it is almost a non-possibility someone hacked his email and did this. If someone wanted to frame him for this they would be a lot smarter to simply make a new email account that they know Matt wouldn't have access too. Also, I can't really see why they would take their time to defend Matt through that email account keeping the email chain going and making it more likely Matt would see them. Why not just delete them as they came in? Also, in the last email about our deal from 2003 he made all sorts of threats if I brought this up again when he did try selling reptiles later on. Who else would really do that other than Matt? These emails went on for a year. How likely is it Matt never really saw one?

After doing that, they passionately defended your good name for over a year using that email account, and meticulously copied your same noticeably poor writing style even though the person they had scammed wouldn't know the difference? In science, they say the simplest explanation is usually the correct one. I personally think its a lot more likely Matt Edmonds used his own email address, name, and physical address to scam me out of my snakes, and is saying what ever lie he can to keep gullible people, and his friends with blinders on believing he was not the one who did this. All the little details fit with this explanation a lot better. Or maybe he really is the 1 in a billion in the paragraph above this one....Poor bastard.

I have to say, I'm leaning toward Ben's warning, re: Matt, is warranted.

Has anyone else here reading this had their email get hacked? Then the person that hacked your email account used it, along with your name and address at the time to scam someone over the internet?

My primary email was hacked a few years ago, but fortunately no one was scammed because my contact list was very small, only about 10 personal friends, family members, and my son's teacher. I was contacted very quickly by the 4-5 people who received hacked emails asking what was with the questionable link "I" sent, as it was out of character. The worst was the warning and apology to my son's Math teacher for that email and link that I did not send.

Still, I believe Ben's update is worthy of consideration.

Elexis, this was all done before Matt was "in the public eye." The original post about this was on a Facebook group I admin in December, way before all of the latest ban/injunction stuff that seems to have elevated Matt's status in the community. Ben just happened to see Matt there and called him out. If you didn't have contact with someone that had scammed you and happened to bump into them somewhere, would you say anything? Since then it has been pretty much just swept under the rug everywhere it has been posted. You can make up your mind either way, but I think it is only fair that Ben gets to speak his piece without it automatically being rejected and deleted by the retic community.

All I was saying is it is possible. I also said I'm not saying he's innocent or guilty. People give different perspectives all the time. That's all I did. And I couldn't help but wonder myself why it took 13 years. I know I would have been all over that the entire time. Blasting jt everywhere to get my animals back or my money. Although I'm a stay at home mom who's trying to get into breeding and breeding feeders to sell locally to help support my family while doing what I love, working with animals. So $600 of my hard earned money would not have been let go until I got some sort of resolution. Someone somewhere knew who this person was and all it would have taken was persistence, a call to the local authorities and given the address and proof the animals were sent and proof no money was received.
