    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Just wanted all you honest guy and gal herpers out there to look out for Jay Kaiper cause he kinda screwed me not to long ago. I saw his post about having two 2ft American alligators that he was wanting to sell or trade. I asked him if he wanted to trade for a great looking burm and 2 cb baby balls (flawless) and one wc adult ball for his two gators. He said yes and also agreed on paying our own shipping. We shipped and I received two 12in gators. I asked him about the gators and he said that I must have seen a diff add. I searched and searched and could not find another add. I sent him a some what hateful e-mail expressing my anger with him and he sent me back one that said that all my animals that I sent him were all unhealthy and looked like sh@#. Now I know that I have never sent a sick animal out or one that had flaws with out first telling the person. Anyway to make things worse two weeks later he got the company that shipped for him to send me the bill for his shipping. I am not going to pay this bill but you can see that he was being a big baby about the whole thing when it was his fault in the first place to send me animals that were the wrong size in the first place. Well today I got a e-mail from him asking me if I wanted to buy some hots from him!!!! Can you believe that like I would really buy something else from him. Oh well just watch out for him and get pics of the animals before you do any dealings with him. I would even recommend that he ship first then once you get the animal then ship to him. Well that's my story JUST BE CAREFULL

I think I remember the other side of this story from a few weeks ago?  I'd like to hear both sides next to each other.  What really happened here?  Does either of you have proof?

I think maybe I got this confused w/a different post regarding a trade between balls and gators.  Heck, maybe I'm wrong competely.  I can't keep track of all this crap!! lol  O well, maybe someone can shed some light on this.  If not, ignore me!

i received the package finaly today,and the burm,other than being a little thin and shorter than i had agreed,looked pretty good,probably worth 1 of the gators.
the balls on the otherhand look like crap!!!!!!the babies are obviously wc or off a farm.1 had a tick on it and both are soo thin i'll be suprised if they make it through the night.the saposed cbb adult female is a thin subadult!its eyes are completely silver from so many layers of skin that have'nt shed off,and theres a very deep dime sized scar(completely healed)on the side,but near the anal opening-so i dont even know if theres been damage and she wont beable to breed.
i e-mailed stating i felt jody should keep 1 of the gators for the burm,andsend the other back-also stated jody should just thank me for trying to rescue the crap balls.
i got an e-mail back stating F**K you,and that if i had anything else to say i should keep it to myself.
wondering what anyone else would do here??thanks

First you should not be selling your animals at an outdoor swap meet.  They have a good chance of dying of dehydration and heat exhaustion.


Second  Shipping aligators with the United States Postal Service (USPS) is a federal crime.

and if I am wrong someone correct me.  but I believe I am right.

If it is a federal crime....then you commited a felony.
if you commited a felony..then you are a felon.   Be careful in your dealings....knowing you are a felon makes people examine EVERYTHING you do.

That's right, Jody.  It is your "STORY," and we're not buying it!  The emails that Jay put up on the other thread showed what really happened.  The information I got on you from the local herpers here at home showed why you would have acted as you did.  Now you have the gall to bring this up again?

Jay, tell us you did not send Jody an advertisement to buy some hots!?!  Do you really think the next deal would be any better than the first?  I'm hoping you didn't do this, but if you did, don't you see that offering to sell to him or trade with him again only gives him a small amount of credibility that he has not yet earned?
 
The shipping of crocodilians under one foot (I don't have the actual text in front of me at the moment) via USPS is legal, as per the Domestic Mail Manual. However, it is my understanding that the gators in question were larger than one foot.
 
Didn't Jody ship the snakes USPS and Jay shipped the alligators Airborne?  There is NO question about the legality of that...shipping snakes through USPS is a federal offence according to the Lacy Act and USPS policy.  Jay, I think you've got Jody by the proverbial "balls," and Jody, I'd get out of this mess before you get into some legal trouble.

Ok everyone I know that it is one word against mine but I know what happened. you all have good points about the shipping and what not but my local postoffice knows what I am shipping and is gladly shipping them for me. Darin Chappell where are you from and why do you think you know me? I have never had a person tell me that I had bad or unhealthy animals. This is the reason that I dont do to much dealings with people on the web because you cant truse everyone and once you do something or are accused of doing something then its like everyone is in the herp world is against you and you are a outcast and nothing you say will matter so you are right when you said that you cant even believe I brought it back up. Now I will say that some of the things that jay said in his post are wrong and he wasnt so nice to offer me a deal on the animals so he must have whipped up some fake e-mails to post on here. well go ahead and thrash this post if you want but I was not looking for your replies just telling you my expereance.

Jodey i'm the one that got burt-no false e-mails everyone here knows i posted the original e-mails between you and i.i let it go and chalked it up as a loss-pretty much rescued your crappy snakes.i just hpe you sold those gators before you killed them off!!but seriously though you just need to keep your mouth shut at this point because every post you make yourself look worse.

Perhaps I didn't say this clear enough.  Jody, you have committed a FEDERAL OFFENCE.  It does not matter whether your post office knows what you are shipping or not, it is illegal.  Again, I suggest you let this thing go away before Jay decides to go on the offensive and has a pair of handcuffs slapped on your wrists.  I do not know the facts about the animals in question, who's were healthy and who's were misrepresented; and I do not care to know as they aren't important at this point.  Be happy you got away with your criminal behavior scot-free and call it a day.

Just to let everyone know. I did business also a trade with Jay Kiper. He did the same thing to me with the shipping. Everything in the trade went fine, but we each were supposed to pay our own shipping. When I tried to call him, I found out his number had been changed. I called airborne about what he did with the shipping and they sent the bill back to him. I believe that he would screw someone, he tried to do it to me. We all need to watch who we do business with.

my only comment to that is i have had SEVERAL problems with AIRBORNE EXPRESS double billing me and the other party.i'm not the only one with these problems-i've heard many stories,thats why i nolonger ship with airborne.

Who am I?  Nobody.  Just a member of the local herp society who knows and is known by the reputable people of our area.  I have a reputation of not messing people over (even if it means I suffer a loss), and I also have contacts with others who know of your reputation as well.

I would really appreciate it if you could tell me which post office you use to ship snakes!  That would be great news for those of us in the area who ship legally, to know that the USPS is now willing to take overnight shipments of snakes!  I don't really think you'll give me this information, because we all know that you are NOT openly shipping snakes via USPS.  You've committed a felony by shipping USPS, and no postal employee is going to help you in that effort.

Jody, I'm not sure if you are from the Ozarks originally or not, but around here, people get to know you by your reputation.  And, people tend to talk.  Griping about gators you got from a trade that involved a felonious use of the USPS on your part is simply not smart.  THAT'S why I said I couldn't believe you were bringing this up again!
