In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

My best guess.
It looks like a picture of a picture. My eye thinks it sees a fold running down the center of the page.

On my monitor this is a very red Dumeril's. I'd like to have a red Dumeril's.

Is it a newborn with the bloody membrane still on it?

If it's not a newborn, it looks like it's having a hard time shedding. Is there something wrong with the tip of its tail?

Give me a hint as to what you're looking at.

I thought the same thing about the membrane at first..but llok closer..the snake is dry and the color seems very strange...the tail also does not look right to me either. I have showed this photo to a couple of folks to get opinions but there just seems to be a few thing not right with this photo..I will point out some other things later but I want to see first if anyone else sees the same things we do or it is just our imagination..
This is an animal for sale BTW

There seems to be a purple hue in some spots. Such as on some places of the snake as well as on the rocks in the top right corner next to the snake.

Oh and i have never kept dum's but i have secretly admirered them but i have never seen one that color before i mean it has a whole lotta red
if i saw one like that i would buy it quick if i had more time that is

As one of the people Michele has spoken with about this picture, I must abstain from further comment at this point...but I'm glad people are looking, lol

I see...

a snake that should probably live somewhere else.

Whoever doctored that photo needs to learn to download and/or read the manual for that particular program (thinking photoshop here). It's not that difficult a program to use, but if used incorrectly, it's easy to spot.

If I have to enhance a photo of an animal for sale I may lighten or darken it to make it more easily viewed (I take crappy pictures- LOL!) but I NEVER mess with the color. The reason for cloning part of the photo completely escapes me.....

Oh, and what's up with the aquarium gravel?? I hope it was just for the sake of a nice photo op and the poor thing doesn't live like that!

Have you sent an inquiry on this animal to see if it was just a **cough** honest mistake?:)

yeah Maggie, I am glad you said it..that is what I was waiting to hear..if in fact the photo looked "doctored" or not. ..the color was the first thing that screamed out at me as well, but then there is more upon further examination.. that no one has really spotted yet..I will point these out later..
I did inquire on this animal but have not received a response yet.

What the heck is wrong with his stomach??? Follow down from the head and it looks like a baseball is in there......not a fresh meal but something huge!

That was a HUGE hint, lol

Looks like the tail is missing to me!
That was the first thing I commented on when Michele sent me this pic...I think I referred to it as a "ghost" dumerils, because its tail just becomes translucent as it crosses his body.

Now, what is it in/about the pattern......(think about the thread title)

Okay, well MY eyes hurt.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the tail. It just looks funny because of how the tail pattern overlaps the body, that and the shadow to the right.

The skin seems really wrinkled near the bends in the body, and it's head seems to be flat down on the gravel, so I'm thinking I agree with Dennis. It looks dead.

Oh, and it was definitely altered. Some of the gravel is pinkish.

not saying that there is anything "wrong" with the tail, just that it is messed up in the pic. it is as if you can see through it. notice how you lose the border definition as it crosses the body...AND how it looks like the end of the tail is cut off and just sitting their - almost as if you are looking into the end of the stump. A result of being altered (the pic, not the snake)?

Hey, look at this guy!!

tilt your heads a bit to the right when you look at this. I highlighted it, but you may see it better by going back to the original

Someone...

Cloned part, if not most, of the pattern on that snake. If I had decent photo editing program on this computer (hubby's) I'd show you where there are repeating patterns (not natural) overlapping segments (again, not natural) and the whole "tail" overlap thingy has got me terribly confused. Then you have severe color alteration...

Just all around messed up in my book.

Now, is this snake actually for sale, or were you just testing those of us that use photoshop for a living? (artists...there's a reason why we are starving--LOL!):raspberry
