    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I just saw some gorgeous dog pix on the member photo thread and thought it would be good to add a thread just for dog pix.
I am hoping to get my son to snap some pix of my dog Muffin to post soon as well as the new dog I should be receiving from a shelter on Saturday.

So, post your pooch pix here and share about their name, how they came to your family, and so on.
BTW, is it true what they say that after a while dogs and their owners begin to look alike?

Blue Doggie

Rescued from a shelter 5 years ago. Great dog! Most obedient dog I ever had.

LOL, I have 5 doggies, so it'll take me awhile to get the "good" pics of them all together....judging by the variety of ther appearance, I think I'd be in trouble if I started looking like them!! We have a Chinese Crested, Rat terrier, Bloodhound, Chesapeake Bay Retriever, and a Treeing Cur.....3 of which were rescues from awful situations. So they all get a bit spoiled!!! I'll try to get some of the pics up here tomorrow, when I get time to resize them all! ;)

Fun thread, Lucille!

My dog is my avatar. It is a Shiba Inu and his name is Haiku. We acquired him about a year ago from a lady that could not take care of him and offer the attention necessary to the breed.

Saved from being put down by the breeder 2 years ago.

My Hubby just got us a wonderful rescue three days ago. He is a Basset/Golden Lab mix. He looks like a Golden Lab...with NO legs!:rofl:

I'll have to get my cam working so you can all laugh too. His name is Garth. I love the big/little muttnick. Weighs about 70lbs and is 24in tall!:)

Here they are!

Well, as long as we're showing off our dogs...here are ours. Max is the lab mix, Gandolf is the black and tan dapple dachsund, and Arwen is the red dachsund. The puppies were just born this afternoon and are Arwen and Gandolf's. Gee...I wonder if she'll ever regain that girlish figure? :rofl:

Pups...

Abigail is my female Akita, my Avatar and first two pictures. The the group pic is the little evil ones: Buddy, the Beagle-found him one day in the street when going to the mail box, Rosie, the Beagle mix-rescued her from an abusive family and Clairice-found her when she was under a pound and a half, had a toothe stuck in her lip, two kinds of worms and a fly larva growing in her neck, obviously not a dog. The last pic is of My male Akita Hunter who died about about a year and a half ago. The best dog ever.

A few pics of my babies....Toto the Chinese Crested, whom you've all seen in my avatar, hehehe.....dressed for Halloween, and after his haircut....Molly, the rat terrier....found abused, injured, and abandoned 8 years ago....Sally, the treeing cur, her former owner was going to shoot her because she didn't hunt out far enough, and "she just kept havin' puppies" :rolleyes: , and Sheffield the Bloodhound, left with a rescue because the previous owner's new girlfriend didn't like dogs....I can't find a good pic of our Chesapeake, I'll have to take some, lol....

And I'm sure that's more than any of you wanted to see.

This is Callie..

She is either German Shepherd or Rottie crossed with Australian Shepherd. She is lazy (I thought she was the only dog who layed down to drink water, sirenofthestorm!) and the best watchdog ever, and so smart it is almost frightening.

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v303/RouxKazoo/100_0035.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com">

We have another dog too that I will try to find a picture of later.

Lol no, my dog is HYPER and she wears herself out, then plops down to drink and eat. Just today she was outside growling at a chunk of cement - I kid you not, tossing it in the air, chewing on it, and running at full speed around the yard with it in her mouth til she was panting heavily and laid down by her outside waterdish to drink. She's also an efficient mulcher of all the branches that have fallen from the three trees in the yard, and will chew up anything soft or hard that's big enough to be torn or fits in her mouth. She's not the brightest dog, either... she still enjoys chasing her tail around til she falls down, and knocks her head into EVERYTHING. Its a very hard head though, she's headbutted me a few times.

Btw kazoo, I think your dog is more shepard than mine, but I'm amazed how similar they look!
