In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi friends,

Of course, there are MANY things to love about these wonderful creatures! But as I meandered through various species over at KS today, I was reminded of one of the wonderful things: Drymarchon people prefer to be nice to mother nature.

The ad which inspired this thought was for a Reticulated python:
"Male lavender albino Super Tiger Motley Super Dwarf Golden Child"
:face_palm_02:

Poor snake.....

Oh yes, it was also cage cleaning day.....Remove hideboxes, after snake launches himself towards first thing that moves. Encourage snake to enter hidebox. Proceed to clean cage. Snake wants to watch. Snake wants to explore. Snake wants to go investigate the cats, who are also watching. All is well, five cages later. Snakes await the feeding regimen...

I love my couperi.

Chris

I hear that!

I guess one of my biggest regrets about moving to Florida from Maryland was that I had to leave my indigo colony behind.

Before moving I contacted Florida Wildlife officials and asked if there was any way possible that I could bring them down here with me. Nope. They told me to be certain to NOT have indigo snakes in my possession when I crossed the Florida border. :(

Oh damn Rich! I can't take my babies with me if I move back to Maui, and I've been thinking about Florida, where I've also lived before.

I certainly trust that you investigated fully......Did you have Federal permits, and Florida Fish & Game still said no?

Because, you know, I've lived in many places.....and I prefer the warm ones. My present locale is just too cold, six months of the year!

I've lived in the West Texas desert (Big Bend), and loved it.....but Indigos don't put up with extreme heat, and the power goes off sometimes....

I parted with all my snakes, when I moved to Maui for over a decade. But I don't think I can bring myself to part with the couperi....they're my family, just like my cats. ( 4 cats moved from Maui with me - I don't leave family behind).

By the way, today after cage cleaning came feeding time: 5 snakes greedily consumed 19 quail, chicks, and XL mice. (And then crapped in the newly cleaned cages -- oh, well. Now I have to go clean again.) :)
