I never really cared about all those red points you and your pals blasted me with. Hell, I got a lot of mail from people who thanked me.

I do think a lot of people were hesitant to post here, because if they disagreed with someone on an issue they'd get eaten by the dogs. No matter if their point was legitamate or not.

Obviously I never cared. And I managed to do it without any warning points.

Ornages have been known to SEVERELY treat errant apples. Going so far, on occasion, as the verbally give them the drubbing they so rightfully deserve in person.

Oranges are generally more intelligent than apples having not only mental dexterity to a MUCH higher degree but the ability to see that even though they ARE smarter than most apples, they are not the smartest of all the fruits.

Apples, being not so very clever as a rule BUT painfully unaware of their lack (always), continually try to assert intellectual domination and quickness of wit is THEIRS alone and not only NOT possessed by the lowly oranges but unable to be conceptualized by such a round fruit.

See the logic there?

They, the apples, have also been known to hurl seedling insults at oranges for growing on trees.

I put this in this forum because I am not seeking confrontation but illumination.

As am I. I recently referred to someone as a troll. I count no fewer than five instances where he has been called the same by moderators here. But I was given points for it and, in Rich's words "It is not your job to label another member as a troll, Jim". Well, I didn't give him that label. Dennis Thomas and Jay Owens did. Repeatedly.

And if I am not mistaken, at least one of them did in a post on this site.

So...the moderators can cite someone as a troll (and say it no fewer than five times) but a member cannot? What gives? Rich said earlier we can call a spade a spade, so long as we do not use inappropriate language. Specifically, liar is OK. So were others. But troll?? Give me a break!

Yes, the moderators CAN call someone a troll, because that is their job here, to determine such things. It is their job to issue warning points to trolls, so obviously they can identify them and call them as such if they feel it is warranted. YOU are not a moderator here, and your usage of that term is designed to be derogatory in nature towards another member. Please note that I have recently added a new violation that you may want to pay attention to. It is listed as "Antagonism towards, or stalking, another member". I trust you know what this means and will act accordingly.

But in reference to being a troll, it is a listed violation on this site. Who else would identify someone as such other then the moderators or myself?

Also, please pay attention to the dates involved, Jim. Even if there were an issue with the moderators identifying someone as a troll, and it was a violation on their part, I am not making the strict enforcement now in effect retroactive, which you appear to be implying that I should do. You can also likely find instances of all kinds of violations taking place on this site, but their existence in the past does not excuse their being done now or in the future.

Seems some like the soon to be (after bugs worked out) "new and improved" FC, and some don't. My 2 cents, (is this off topic?) I'm starting to get the feeling it's getting too Politically correct. PC is really the wrong term, but I don't know really how to categorize it. Kind of like the new wave idea of treating kids, IE. everybody gets a "child of the week" certificate, playing sports where the score is not kept, because everybody is a winner........etc. or better yet, that movie with Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes, and Sandra Bullock, the name which escapes me at this moment (should I google it, ) but anyway, a bad guy gets frozen in the past, then like 100? years later he gets thawed out, and he wrecks havoc on the place, because everything has been outlawed; from cussing, rudeness, sex (done with virtual reality glasses only), to, even salt, so nobody including the cops can deal with him, so they thaw out the cop from the past who originally captured the bad guy, so he can capture him again.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think this place should be the wild west, with no rules whatsoever (I thought, penalizing them and placing the thread in hell worked), but it just seems to me that the pendulum may be swinging too far in the opposite direction. How are people like, Pete, Serpentboy, that jailbird, and all those others going to be handled? Less severely possibly, but it seems like a little harshness was necessary to get to see their true colors. I guess, I'll have to wait to see where the pendulum finally stops, but as bad as it did get around here, I think a FC like the future in that movie would be just too, superfluous? To sterile? I don't know? JMHO

According to your statement I should have only sank -200 yet I was wellll into the positive after your adjustments. After all was said and done I was still in the negative when I should not have been even close and I was told this would be corrected, does your math exclude me? Just wondering...

I removed the negative points you were given from the programmer during testing. That, as far as I am aware, is the only adjustment I needed to make.

Yes, but that was during testing. Not the points deducted from the two suspensions. Your programmer issued an additional warning and additional point deductions and I did notice that alteration when corrected, but nothing else. Perhaps I missed something but I've kept a sharp eye on this since the very frist wanring and reduction.

No it's not going to be sterilized, but it will be sanitized. Personally, I truly believe there are people who will complain about it no matter how it turns out. Just as there are people compaining about it now, and people who complained about it in the past. I will do my best to make the changes I see as necessary, then evaluate the results afterwards to see what to make of the current situation. If someone has a working crystal ball, then please send it to me.

Not hijacking Wes's thread but I just got suspended for a similar silly reason by Doc for asking Lucille why she felt it necessary to imply members were lazy and dumb for not doing a simple search on karma. I never called her any names or used a single harsh word. The harshest word I used was "darn".

A suspension for only saying "darn", huh? I have not been checking Fauna for some weeks, but in reference to Critical Bill's response, I wonder what people would have thought of the PM you sent me a few weeks back?

What does your post have to do with the subject of this thread? It sounds like you are trying to openly tell on Chuck for something that he sent to you a "few weeks back". If you were so concerned when you received this then you should have reported it when you received it. Rich has already stated that he isn't going to be going back and retroactively suspending and fining people.

It is posting like yours that needs to be quelled also.

To answer your question about reporting the incident, of course, I did. It is my obligation not only to notify the admins of this website for such personal threat, but in addition, I contacted the PASP in reference to this incident. I am not hoping that action will be taken against chuck for something that happened weeks ago, but I was simply showing a comparison of how ironic a suspension for saying "darn" was taken when Chuck was implying a lot more than saying that in his PM. I have no idea what were the policies on this website couple weeks ago, but I begin to wonder when a line needs to be drawn for behaviors like this.

If you reported it, then how did you do it? Did you contact anyone in particular? I know that I didn't see any notifications about possible PM abuse, and I'm pretty certain that if Rich doesn't know about it, otherwise he would have taken action on it. Not to call you a liar, but I am strongly questioning the accuracy of that statement.

I would suggest answering these questions promptly. There's a good chance that you're going to get warning points for your first post...it's being discussed.

I call bull on this one. You reported it to me by PM and I assesed him warning points for Private Messaging abuse and he was suspended for it on 08/26. I suggest you go back and do a little research before you claim the MOD's do or do not do something.

It is NOT standard procedure here for myself nor the mods to acknowledge receipt of a reported post or other problem. Nor do we notify the person sending the reported incident of any resolution, if any, that has taken place.

If we are notified, one of more of us will look at the incident and evaluate the issue to determine if we need to act on it. If action is appropriate, it will be done with no fanfare. This does not mean such action is a secret in any way, it just means that we see no reason to publicize it, nor contact anyone else about it.

I was suspended and fined for sending you that Private Message a while back. Make no mistake Chris, your reporting the post the first time did not go unanswered. I was punished.

There are no re-matches for you though. No bouncing back. I didn't disgrace you in this hobby, you did that all to yourself. I understand the great shame you must feel and I do understand you might feel like an oddball, a freek, for liking something different than what is the norm for most folks. But Chris...I'm not a therapist or your parish priest. Its not me you need. I cannot help you.

And for the record Chris...it wasn't "darn" that got me suspended. It was my attitude that earned it. It was baiting Lucille into an argument that earned me the suspension. I face up to my mistakes when I realize I've made them.....you should try it some time. Relying on a box of Kleenex is not the way a man should make his way through life, Chris.
