Okay, here's the scoop.
In December it all started with a tiny Mountain Horned Dragon, okay fine. easy enough. Well then we adopted two adult Beardies about 6 weeks later. Love them, very funny, easy to care for. Just a total hoot. Well, we attended the Seattle Reptile Expo this weekend and we walked out with our first tarantula...
This has got to stop. Seriously...Why are all these critters so addictive? My beloved yellow labradors are starting to get kind of jealous of the newbies.
I never woulda dreamed of having a large spider in my house, but after I handled it a bit, I was fascinated and found it to be a rather beautiful creature. (again, never would have dreamed) Husband has considered one for several years and we have read a lot about them, and we finally went for it. We have a baby versicolor now and it's super cute. The adults are just gorgeous. Can hardly wait to see it mature, how pretty it will be.
Anybody here have a lot of experience w/the versicolors? Again, we have read/are reading a lot, discussed them extensively w/the vendor we bought from. She was excellent in every aspect, very knowledgable. Highly reccommended the versi for first, being as it's known for being docile and fairly easy to handle. I have received so much good info/suggestions reference my lizards here at Fauna, I thought I would try and connect with the spider folk, versicolor lovers in particular.
So anyways, here we are....our friends think we have lost our minds and a few relatives have now sworn that they will no longer be staying at our house. (lame!) I'm afraid to attend the next expo in April! hehehe...
