In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

What time do you turn up in shows?

Do you find that the "early bird gets the worm" or do you prefer to come to a show later in the day to find better bargains, etc.?

What have you found works best for you?

Wanda

Wanda,

We went to the show in Columbia SC two years ago, and in this case I feel the early bird gets the worm. The doors opened at 10:00 am and at 10:15 I had bought the only Albino Boa and a het Boa for a real good price.

Wow! Great deal...

How many of you find that in coming late you are best able to negotiate and bargain?

I was always curious about breeders holding on to a pricey animal to bargain throughout the day...

We try to show up first thing to get our picks, but then we return right around closing time to do the bargain hunting.

More often than not, venders will just stand there saying "make me an offer".

Get the "must haves" first thing in the morning and the the others you might be interested in at the end of the show when you can bargain.
A lot of times you can get very good deals at the end of the show especially if it is a 2 day one and vendors don't want to pack up a lot of items at the end of the second day.

I agree

If it's an "absolutely, must have herp" that you're looking for....be there right when the doors open and BUY it....because, it WILL be gone in the first 20 minutes or so. But if you're just browsing and don't have your eye on any particular animal, then hang around till the the last hour of the show.....that's when a lot of breeders will bargain.
