Who else is having problems logging into chat?

A few people have told me that they cannot ener chat. I have no idea why this is, but hopefully we can fix it.

What I ask all of you, is to try and log on to chat sometime. Even if you dont plan to stay, just try to log in and let us know if you were successful.

Pleas help us out.......

Wow Al thanks for posting I didn't even know there WAS a chat until I saw your post. I logged on fine but it is 5AM and no one else is there

Did this happen after you haqd the pc rebooted ? it could be something in the Java settings what exactly happens when ya try ?

Same thing happened to me last time Hubby "Fixed" my PC. Turned out I needed to download Java again. I had Java on here~ but Chat didn't like the one that came with my XP (Came with it or hubby got it somewhere and put it on here) I went to Sun microsystems (I *think* thats where I went) and got the free download for Java meant for Windows 2000 (Yes, I have XP on this machine~ but the Windows 2000 version worked)

I never even thought about this until your post.

I'm glad this was allowed to be posted on the BOI as it may make users aware of the multiple chat rooms.

As you know I seldom have trouble logging into chat. But I know some people do...(ex: jenn).

But the big thing about this thread is discovering that frequent travelers in fauna do not even know about chat......I was wondering why there hasn't been much traffic in chat,,,, thought it might have been my "pleasing personality" or my inability to stay on my chair while laughing and trying to type in chat.........they just don't make chairs the way they use to..lol

Maybe Webslave could put a large colorful icon up to enter chat.

THe chair is a major issue with you jerry. I hope you get it under control without the use of strong medication! lol

You must remember that the reason so few people are in chat is because it is ONLY for COOL people!

First I would like to thank Cheryl for pointing me in the right direction. I have now fixed the problem and can once again scare people out of the chat room
Second I think Scott has a point with making the chat symbol bigger or something to that effect.
Third i would say to anyone that they should try out the chat room at lest once. Not everyone is as scarey as me or Scott! Most of the people in there are very nice.
