In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

its been 36 hours after i fed him but he refuses to be active

p.s. he still has the mouse lump indent in him

can you help me?

A lot of times snakes become inactive for a while after feeding. How do you have his cage setup, as far as what kind of heat source and what are the high and low temps?

reply

i have a great amount of hiding places and lots of decor and also alot of space for him to roam
i have a wooden piece that he likes to climb on in the middle of the cage

the temp is at 74 to 76 high and 68 low but mostly its at 76 degrees

I have noticed on all species of snake that they will sort of shut down after a meal..I would not be worried.......

If I were you, I'd bump up the temperatures to 85 on the warm side.

By the way, did you get your new corn at the KC show today? Who did you buy yours from? I was there and got a new corn, too.

hi
no i didnt get him from the show i got him at a new petco close to me

i got him because i had the money and i still regret giving up my 6 year old corn snake that was about 4 to 6 feet long

i really liked that snake and im glad i have another that i can watch grow

Well, hopefully you can catch the next show. Even if you don't buy anything, it's fun to go see what they have. They had amels and snows priced at $20-$25, which is a better deal than the $50 Petco charges.

Yea, unless you catch a sale, I dont buy from PetCo.
I do occasionally, when they have their $30 for Balls. Thats a good price, well for here it is, because theirs are quality, and feeding.

thanks i will remember that and another thing thats the snake that i really have been meaning to get the ball python

p.s. can you direct me to a good place to get a ball python

snakectr

thank you i will be watching for the next show
the petco i went to had what look like to be juvenile
ball pythons but they had em for about 80 to 90 dollars

their snakes are all good healthy animals
the manager is really nice
thankyou again

Ew Petco. Heres a tip. Take the snake to a vet and have him checked for parisites.
I worked there 4+ years. Not the best place to buy animals from.

Not all PetCo's are bad.
One employee was particularly mad at me. The suprivising manager decided to give me a turned over Ball Python, that I guess was supposed to be given to her. She wasn't to pleased. I didn't know, and she wasn't there when I got the Ball.
It's mine fair and square though, and I need him for breeding season. If all goes well though, Im going to give her a baby or 2 from the clutch...

Anyway...

Regardless of how good the dealer is, there is always the possibility of recieving an animal that is not in the best of health. I had two pinktoed tarantulas from the same place, boith died, but I was successful in keeping my Chilean Rose, so maybe some breeds of snake are just easier to keep than others, as with spiders.
