In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

will this setup work?

these are my beardie setup plans:

it might seem confusing. i am going to try to give the beardie more running space. how do i heat it? what temps? how should i control them? how does the setup look?

there will be a room behind this that i work in. there will be curtains to block the cages from view when needed. the bottom one will be supported by 4x4's and the top ones will also. this will make it easier for people to see my animals.

this is the first diagram(42" L x 30"W)looking down on it:

the whole thing is made from screen, the stuff UV can travel through.

the two squares on the middle line are hinges.

the other four squares are latches

this is so if i want i can remove the whole top, but for everyday feedings in can remove half the top.

this is the second diagram(42"L x 30" W)looking down in:

the substrate is sand.

the stick-type things are fake outback plants.

the rock in the center is the basking rock

in the bottom right corner is the food dish

in the bottom left corner is the cricket rock

the snake-like thing is a branck or log to climb on.

this is the third diagram(42"L x 20"H) looking at the back:

there is a double wall. the first is wood and lifts up to glass so i can see inside it.

This is the fourth diagram(42"L x 20"H) looking at he front:

it is glass with a wood frame, so you can see inside it from the outside.

sorry, i didn't know that the words were too small.
;)

Heating- heat lamps are always good, to control the temps a thermostat will do the job for you. Temps do need to be hot I keep mine at 88-95 on the hot end and 78-85 on the low end.

The cage looks okay to me, the best part about making your own cage is you can make it any way you like. It is hard to get a good mental picture of it, but I get the idea.

The only thing I would suggest is not using the 4x4s, that will be a lot of weight if you plan on moving the cage around, or even into your room, unless you are planning on a good workout everytime you vacuum. 2x4s are not as heavy and bulky. I personally use 2x2s for supports and 1x1s for the framing. With only a single piece of glass you probably do not want a 20 pound screen cage. Good luck and have fun. Also before you buy a bearded to put in the cage do some reading up of some care sheets. Here is a very informative one that will answer a whole lot of questions for you.

i am using 4x4 to support my aquariums. they will be on shelves. the beardie cage will also be on a shelf. it will be made of non toxic wood, glass, and the mesh used in the ESU cage tops. what type of wood is non toxic? also, can i seal it without it hurting the dragon?

I believe that pine and cedar is the toxic wood, and if you wanted to make it look pretty realistic, i would use cactus skeleton. I dont know how hard it could be for you to get living in michigan, but its easy to just go out and find here. It adds an artistic touch :hehe: but be sure to disinfect anything you plan on putting in the cage.
