    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

hi all,

was wondering if someone could give me advice on sexing monitors, in particular emerald tree monitors. does xraying work on this species, and if so, what size would they need to be before this can be done accuratly.

I could be wrong, but I thought xraying worked best with larger species.
I would think that emeralds would be almost ideal candidates for saline injection

I read an article sometime ago that Marke Bayless wrote about this subject. I t was pointed to the dumerils monitor and the nile monitor. It said x-ray sexing was very ineffective, and actually seeing them defecate was one of the only true ways of determining the sex. I sexed my 3 dumerils I had with the defecation method.
