    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

What do you guys use for incubators? Did you make your own or buy them? Feel free to post pics!

I have tried a couple different kinds( digi mini fridge/hovabator)and I really would like to upgrade/see what else is out there.

Incubator

I started out with hovabator too then went to 2 reptibators digital proportional much better less temp fluctuation but still was too small would only hold 2 clutches each cause you cant stack them in these top heated bators. Then moved to my home made mini fridge heated with flex watt along the back and small computer fan on top back blowing down works fine looks ok cheaper digital thermostat holds 6 large Tupperware each will hold the largest of dragon clutches worked fine last year to hatch bout 500 eggs this year i finally built a nice looking glass front wine cooler incubator same design 11" flex watt along the back small fan on top back 4 shelfs and will hold 8 large Tupperware and for this one i just orderd a herpstat praportional thermostat i tested it with the cheaper thermostat and only 1* diffrence from top to bottom hope this to be the one for a few years can't post pics from I pad to fauna but if you pm your email I'll send you pics.

I have built and used many types of incubators.

Currently I am using a small walk in closet.

The heat source is a DeLonghi oil filled electric radiator space heater plugged into a Ranco thermostat.it maintains good temps and hatches all my eggs.

An incubator can be as simple as a box,heat source and a good thermostat.

An old refrigerator can easily be converted into a top-notch incubator. I use
(4) 40w light bulbs, placed on the bottom, all wired together, and plugged into a Helix thermostat. The ones with wire-type shelves work best. I have one that I have been using for 13 years now, and almost never have to adjust the temperature. my "refrincubator" is big enough to hold 31 Sterilite shoe boxes and, because it's a fridge, has great insulating properties. If the power goes out, for any reason, the temp stays warm enough that i don't have to worry. It does not have see-through doors, but I'm not concerned with that...I open the door to check eggs, and the temps barely fluctuate.

I like my digital mini fridge because it cools when its really hot out. I had that problem last year, my temps spiked more than I wanted. Luckily I was crazy about checking temps and moved it to a room with an AC on 24/7 as soon as I noticed.

It will be interesting to see how hot my reptile room gets this year, I moved the end of August last year. I'm thinking I may have to add a AC in there, it is winter and it stays pretty warm in there during the day.

I would like to build one or get a larger one, instead of having a few smaller ones. I am getting some heat tape for my dubia and maybe should invest extra supplies to build an incubator...
