    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I adopted a Savannah Monitor from Zane all was asked is money for shipping. It went great he kept me posted on everything from when he got my money to when he shipped. I got an awsome monitor. I've got to agree with you. Zane's ethics can't be beat.

I reccently got a pair of Okalahoma Brown tarantulas from him, perfect health, looking great, shipping and packaging couldn't have been better.

He also has some funny ideas about people not needing to pay him for animals. Can't say I understand but I certainly do appreciate it.
 


What I do for my own purposes has what to do with my business ethics? Afterall, no one was questioning my intelligence.

Good Guy! Nutty, but a Good Guy!

I have never bought anything from Zane, but have talked with him almost daily on and off for some years. I personally would trust him in any business transaction. I'm no hot keeper ( if only there were venomous geckos or turtles! ) on that issue, but as for Zanes ethics of business and standards of care, they are top notch. Zane is VERY well informed with the species he works with, and is also helpful when asked any questions about them. I happen to think anyone that handles hots freehand is basically nuts, but in no way would it effect my decision on buying an animal from someone who was a caring herper, good business man, and a informed seller, all attributes which Zane displays.

I agree with Mike. I too have never bought anything from Zane, but I have knwon him for sometime. Though I do question his intelligence, and bad luck (moving to FL right in time for the hurricanes), he is very knowledgable about reptiles, and very responsible with the herps he keeps.
I'd not doubt any purchase for a second with Zane.
 
I did a trade with Zane at one point. A juvie timber rattler for a small sulcatta tort. I had been speaking with him for some time before our trade, and even still. It went great, the tort was in great shape, and he was apparently happy with the timber I sent him as well.

As far as the freehandling goes. I too am a hot keeper, and dont promote freehandling of any kind for anyone, including Zane. That does not change anything about his ethics. If you want to use the word "dumb," are you all of the sudden saying everyone who is dumb has bad business ethics? Do all unintelligent people rob you? ...Didnt think so....


Anyway, I would definitely do business with Zane in the future.
 
Hate to burst everyones bubble about zane..but

Zane did something else dumb. He stole from me, and today was escorted to jail in the back of a Marion County Sheriff's patrol car with a felony under his belt.

I am in the process of putting this all up in a post on the BOI, a number of people helped me here in fauna classifieds.
I will get as much info on my BOI post asap. I just wanted to bring this thread back to the top to prove that you never really know about anyone.....
