Bought a couple of candy cane corns from Serpenco about 3 months ago, and they seem to have been misrepresented. They don't appear to have the proper coloring that would qualify them for candy cane corns. |

But just in case you just have trouble typing, here's my response: Do you think this is the proper method to initially inform me of a problem with snakes you have gotten from me? I do not recognize your email address and have no idea who you are. Also, I make it a point to tell everyone that buys these from me that no one can guarantee how they will turn out looking as they mature. You have never made an effort prior to this to contact me about a perceived 'problem'. Three months ago would put us at the first week of August. As best I can tell from my records, I only sent out three shipments of Candy Canes during the first couple of weeks of August, and don't recognize you as being one of those people receiving these animals. So please identify yourself. If this is your idea of a joke, it's a pretty lame one. And even if you truly are a customer of mine, just because of these animals not meeting your expectations you feel you were royally screwed and that makes me a 'very bad guy'? |

I have had two people do this to me, buy something from me and then SEVERAL months later, they decide they don't like the said animal/s and they decide to take it upon themselves to "word of mouth" TRY to destroy my reputation, when in fact, if they had come to me first, we may have been able to work out the problem (which in both cases turned out to be POOR husbandry on their parts). But you know what they say, IGNORANCE is bliss, and ya, I would leave this one up for a day or two, just so all of us who are LAUGHING our butts off at this INSANE statement of "Rich, very bad guy" can enjoy the humor. We KNOW better......but then we know Rich....lol, this one beats ALL though!! Must be our funny for the day! |

Your actions tell me of your immaturity and irrisponsiblity. I had purchased a snake from Rich this year which was a little different than what I expected. One of the pairs of snakes I ordered was a pair of Amels. het for blizzard, he could only find a female so he was going to send the female het and a male blizzard. It took quite a while to get them shipped because here in CA the temperature would not cooperate. Finally got below 90 degrees and Rich and I made arrangements for the shipment, when I received it the next day, Rich enclosed a note saying the female het. did not look right, so he enclosed a female blizzard. So I got a pair of Blizzards in place of the pair of hets. for the same price. Why did I order from Rich in the first place? Because his reputation preceeds him. So I think your feeble attempts at slander won't fool anybody. John |

Posted At 20:05:49 11/04/2000 I purchased 5 hatchlings from Rich this season, two lavenders, 2 candy canes, and one siver queen ghost. All are beautiful. My experiences with Rich were great. First we got caught in the problems with Shippers not wanting to take live shipments when the temperature might be about 80 degrees. Not infrequent in CA. But that was resolved, and they were shipped. Rich sent me the tracking numbers so I could follow up with the shipper to go get the animals immediately as I was unwilling to have them sit even overnight at the shippers. There were many email exchanges during this time and Rich was always willing to spend time letting me know the status. Then the male lavender decided not to eat. I was keeping all the hatchlings on the same shelf in separate boxes. I took him to the vet to be sure he was okay. The vet said he had eaten and commented on how calm he was and what good condition he was in. I exchanged email with Rich about how to get Gawaine to eat back and forth. It took until the beginning of October, before Gawaine voluntarily ate, but he is eating well now on thawed mice. |

Posted At 12:11:49 11/05/2000 I feel as if I have to say something even though Rich needs no help in defending himself. This is obviously an attempt by someone with nothing better to do than try to raise some hackles by posting false info anonymously. I am by no means one of Rich's bigger costomers but I've been treated with respect and made to feel as if my order was of great importance to him. Every order has come through as was expected and every snake has been properly represented. I have only had one problem with a snake from Rich, a male Candycane refused to eat and died. I told Rich of the animals fate and without my asking, Rich replaced it free of charge. I have even recieved extras and special deals. Rich has TOP QUALITY animals and FIRST RATE customer service. This post is mostly aimed towards readers who don't know Rich, because if you know him then you already know all of this. |

First, you buy some corns from a breeder with a reputation for being the "go to guy" for corns. Then. 12 weeks after receiving the animals(I have yet to see a corn develop its full colors that fast), you decide that they weren't what you thought they were. Instead of making any effort whatsoever to contact Rich and discuss it with him , which would have been the intelligent thing for you to do, you do the exact opposite. All you have demonstrated up until that point is a severe lack of common sense. Second, when people point out how utterly foolish you are, you come back with, "Rich is obviously paying his buddies to make positive comments about him!" Yes Mike, it's all a big conspiracy against you. Even though I live in Detroit, I must be one of Rich's buddies...yeah, ok Mike. I guess over 99% of the herpetocultural community must be on Rich's payroll, because the general consensus is that he is one of the, if not the, best cornsmake breeders in the US, and that he is above reproach. I guess what I'm trying to say Mike, is that before you make yourself look like a fool again; 1.) know some facts before you open your mouth and insert your foot in it 2.) if you have a problem with a breeder, take it up with them first. Do you know any of the people who have posted in this thread? Do you have any information that would back up your opinion or are you just spouting off? It should be obvious who started it but we the posters run it. I haven't heard of any type of manipulation other than what is posted in the rules. If you've got info contrary to what been posted by all means share it. If not and you just think it's a joke, don't participate. |

I don't keep it a secret that this is my message board but I certainly don't go out of my way to flaunt it either. What is it about this decision that you have a problem with? I set up this message board specifically because I was tired of getting ripped off every once in a while when I let my guard down and felt there needs to be a way that situations like this could be made public to help other people avoid getting burned themselves. Is that a problem for you, and if so, why? These people, of course, will really hate it that their scams would reach a wide audience in very short order. I have, can, and will block posters that apparently have no other intention other than just being disruptive here. And yes, this certainly IS my forum, and I am proud of it. So much so that I will make a VERY strong effort to keep it the way I want it to be. Which, perhaps unfortunately for you, I have every right to do so. Just for the record, I pay for this site myself, and not only offer this forum for free, but also offer free sale ads and free want ads (which I understand you are fully aware of). He has been working on Candycanes for over 15 years... I have some I got this year.(candies) you are right.they do not look like everyone elses'. they are the only TRUE looking candies I saw all year. they are red and white.have been since hatching. Everyone has a bad day once in awhile. I know of people who have had misunderstandings or simply jumped to conclusions once in awhile. Don't take it personal. Talking about someone's lack of testicles doesn't exactly put your name on the "go to" list. Sounds like someone I would avoid bigtime. Your choice of course. There are more people that would rather rip freedom of speech and the press strait from the Constitution and the bill of rights. It PI$$ES me off when people take such things for granted. I have family that died protecting them. I fought to protect them. The point is people died and everytime someone stomps on someones rights or tries to rob them of it they are stomping on the graves of the people that made it possible for us to have places like this. We are loosing our freedoms a little each day by the government, by people that want to censor us and by us being passive, like cattle being herded for the slaughter. Some laws I agree with, others I don't. Some laws are passed simply to fatten the pockets of polititions and corporate America and for our safty and well being, so they say. They set laws on the law abiding and only the law abiding will obey, not the criminals, the drug dealers, the murders or the illegal gun dealers. I say punish them. Light their worthless behinds up in the chair. Forget all this humane needle in the arm and fall asleep bull. If it was their kid, loved one or friend they would want to rip their hearts out, throw them to the lions, or burn them at the stake, maybe even a good hanging would work. Wake up people. One minute you want your rights to voice your opinion the next you want to take it away from someone else, but you better be careful what you wish for as it may be taken from us all one day and then where will you be? People come here and rant and rave and carry on like enraged 2 year olds. I'm sure Rich expected some problems, others he probably laughs off, but it's the idiots that always ruin it for everyone else. Don't under estimate stupidity or ignorance, it is a very strong tool or weapon. The people that find this place helpful will miss it, the ones that find it exposes them won't and they will be laughing all the way to the bank with your money. I agree with Rich and everyone else that said if you don't have the balls to post your full name and true E-mail you shouldn't post, but I will take it a step further and say if you're too chicken $h!+ to let us know who you are then your post bears no wieght and you're wasting our time and valuable space. If you don't like what goes on here then don't come here, simple enough, the little X in the upper right hand corner will immediatly help you escape this joke and return you to your own little reality.
