I responded to there ad for a female proven breeder het. for hypo honduran milk.We agreed on a price of 265.I was told it was there last colubrid,they were getting out of colubrids.The snake layed 9 eggs this year and had produced hypos.It took a while after they had my money,because they said they had over looked the fact that the snake was gravid.Then I get an e-mail they are ready to ship it was only food.Then I get an e-mail saying the het bred to an albino when they were cleaning cages,not to feed it to large a mice or it will lose the eggs.After a week the snake is coughing up flem and I notice it has mites.When I ask for my money back an hour later I get a prank herp phone call full of obsenities.Then Im e-mailed several days later and told if I wanted a refund I would need to send a vet. report on the snake.Im sorry to be so long to get my point accross.They are LIARS BUYER BEWARE |

Posted At 21:40:34 11/16/2000 i have also purchased a boa from chen lai (cobalt reptiles)and when it arrived it was very dehydrated and had lose skin and when i emailed him to tell him this he said so sue me.i told him that i would report him to kingsnake.com webmaster and he said that i wouldnt be the first so try to get my money back.i alerted the webmaster from kingsnake.com and he said that i was in fact one of many people who have had very bad dealings with chen lai (cobalt reptiles)and he is looking for more people to right him about there dealings and was talking to a lawyer to see what he could do.since then i have received numerous threatening phone calls like the guy bruce has saying that i'll never get my money and if i pursue him anymore he will find me and kill me.i have also heard that cobalt is no longer around because chens partner chris also got ripped by chen.lets all help to put a stop to chen lai's bad dealings and falsely represented animals. |

Posted At 12:06:27 11/21/2000 First of all, Bruce, you dealt with Chris. we emailed to each other because I was working for Chris. Chris would not give you a refund because you failed to show him a vet statement, and you stop emailing after we request for the vet statement. Obviously you can't prove that the snake was sick and trying to get more out of what you paid for. And you didn't email us until 3-4 weeks after the purchase. If it was that sick the first week, how come you didn't notify us earlier? Second of all, I don't know who you are,john. And Chris and I are good friends now. So, whatever you are saying is absolutely lies. Anyone interested in asking chris can email him at cobaltreptile@netscape.net And I called you? I don't know who you are, and I dont' call any of Chris's customers unless they call me. Chris like to keep his business online back then, so there is no way that I talked to anyone on the phone except a couple people that I still talk to. Last, I don't work for Chris anymore because of his moving, not because of what john said(ripping him off). I only have a few snakes that I am keeping and breeding myself. And if you have problem with snakes you purchase from Cobalt reptile long ago, you should email chris at cobaltreptile@netscape.net Chris is a lawyer, he will deal with you professionally and promptly if you have a problem. And if you failed to provide any evidence or statements from the vet, then you really have no place to speak. So, if you couldn't get your refund legally from Chris, don't come here and trash my name simply because I worked him. That's all I have to say. |

Posted At 18:07:23 11/21/2000 You people crack me up. I took a moment to read the posts in this message area and I fail to understand why you people fight amongst yourselves so much. This is one of many occasions that chen has showed me people yelling and complaining about reptiles (from various sources). If you people have such issues with fraud and misrepresentation, then why the HELL do you continue to allow yourselves to be a victim to online fraud. Trust me, chen has been befrauded on MANY occasions, and I have told him the same thing. The only thing Mr Lai is guilty of is not taking the advice that I am giving you all right now. If you don't like getting ripped off, don't make yourself vulnerable. Use an escrow account, paypal, or some stupid service like that rather than placing your trust in a complete stranger. It does no one any good to flame aloud on a message board and defame others. Just something to think about. I am done. -=steve=- |

Posted At 12:53:46 11/22/2000 Just want to clear up something. Steve is my current roommate, and computer are connected(networking) and from the same cable service. So, our ip is the same(he told me someone emailed him about the ip). My point is, what he posted last is his opinion, and doesn't effect me in anyway. And I am soon getting out of online selling, only will be in shows. Because there are weirdos like John that accuse me of doing wrong business with him(even though I have never done any business with him). That's all.... |

And the other MANY occations were that I was befrauded. So, please read carefully because you step into your own foot. Another point, I wanted to say something about the ip because I want others to know that he is my roommate. I didn't have to, but I did so, so that others can know. So, there is no point of making the comment you did. One last point, this whole thread is about I am letting Bruce know who he really purchased the snake from. I am not trying to defend myself, because I didn't sell him the snake, Chris did. I only arranged the shipping schedule with Bruce. |

Posted At 22:19:50 03/06/2001 Seems you sold him the snakes. Now put it off on your "ex" partner since he is out of the picture all of a sudden. In one post you say "he" sold you the snakes, and you didn't provide HIM with vet statement. Then state that "WE" asked for it. And why didn't you notify "US". And the roomate thing is pretty clever. Your roomate just happened to come here and see his buddy being attacked once again. And wanted to make a point to all of us, that his "roomate" had been had before too(poor roomate). Are you guys sleeping together or what? I know my friends don't fight my battles for me. Seems more like a "relationship" or a make believe alter ego to me. You can't just keep jumping over the fence, eventually you'll get yourself hung up by the balls. Decide once and for all, who he dealt with-him or we-If I had to provide proof to we, well, that includes you-and I would come after you for what was rightfully mine if the other part of WE was gone now. |
