Avoid him or you will be sorry. I replied to one of his ads and made a deal with him. He was supposed to send me a female Emerald tree boa in exchange for my two Jungle Carpet Pythons and $150 in money order. After receiving my snakes and money he refused to answer my calls or emails. If I post a "Buyer Beware" ad I get an email from him with "good try asshole" in the subject line. After posting the above mentioned ad I received over forty emails from people who got ripped off by this guy. Most of them never received the animals they paid for and some received dead animals. He has four email addresses that I know of but when things get hot he comes up with a new one His name again is MATT MARTIN from Winona MN 507-454-1860 |

Posted At 01:04:08 10/05/2000 I think one bit of helpful information, on these bad guys posts is how you initially contacted the person or where are they posting their for sale ads, might give a heads up if we start seeing a trend where a certain posting board has a higher than normal incidence of fraud. Now Tibor has lost his posting rights to Kingsnake.com, just because he tried to help others from makeing a mistake. Anyways I wanted to publically Thank Tibor and now this Board. Thank You. |

Posted At 15:42:48 10/30/2000 I recently ordered a male brazilian rainbow boa from him. The animal arrived alive and was the one he sent pictures of. His customer service is not so great...he doesn't give long e-mails or complete info. The snake was fairly good, but a little underweight. Overall, Matt didn't rip me off or send me a dead snake...so I'd do business with him again providing I got more complete info next time. -Jeff |

Posted At 23:17:32 01/11/2001 This Matt Martin is a criminal. He took me for over $2000 in snake at wholesale value. Of whi were 2 adult prs of Dumeril Boas, an adult pr. of Brazilian rainbows, and a adult pr of Berry Island boas. I have seen that he has sold many of my snakes he never paid for. Herpers be careful no in fact avaoid him at all costs. I have made the terrible decision of working with him now i am in touch with the Feds and I hope they can help me. Thanks Jeff |

Posted At 16:12:34 01/12/2001 if its any help, i had some of the same problems with certain dealers and when i contacted the police they said it was grounds for mail fraud if they dont send the animals after you've made an agreement and sent money to them, its also a form of larsony(theft under $10,000), and possibly federal charges if its interstate. A word to the wise, save your emails as proof of the deal, get addresses and last names, and take them to the police if something goes wrong. In some cases even the police can help us with bad dealers or find people who seem to have disappeared with our money. |

Posted At 00:31:25 01/15/2001 I recieved an email from him offering me 40 baby boas.He kinda led me around the bush, and something just didnt feel right so I declined the offer.I later seen him advertising on kingsnake, but not listing the babies.He claimed to have over 40 columbians,20 dums,20 brazilian rainbow boas,ect.ect. I think the guy is a scam artist.But I must admit that I have not done any business with him. Once again just my 2 cents Mickey |

Someone should notify kingsnake re: He should definitely be black-listed there if what you all say is true (Don't they have a black-list themselves ?) They should also know that this Tibor guy was trying to help.Maybe reprimanded if he didn't go about it the right way, (but not banned.) Maybe someone with a frequented site could link multiple sites with black-lists together to really get word out and make sellers more accountable). Just my humble thoughts. -E... |
