I was merely going to post a reply to the inquiry below but thought I should make this post this separately. I have been keeping, breeding (and buying!)mostly tree boids of all types since the early 80's. I have been a customer of many established Florida herp dealers and importers for many years and have had my share of good and bad deals, etc. However, I cannot say enough good things about Ben Siegel Reptiles. He is extremely professional and straightforward in his business. Ben doesn't even CLAIM to 'cherry pick' his animals...but he actually DOES get the best in captive born & wildcaught animals. His prices may be on the higher end in some cases but it is because he pays more for such animals...thus importers favor him when they get quality animals in stock...thus customers recieve the best in terms of quality animals, not junk! I,personally would rather pay top dollar for a healthy screamer red amazon tree boa and actually RECIEVE a healthy screamer red Amazon tree...not wait for a "Good Deal" resulting in the reciept of a misrepresented, muddy reddishbrown ATB covered in mites and bubbling at the mouth with a URI within a month of arrival. I remember in years past not even being able to get the quality colored animals because of Florida dealers favoring their friends and walkin customers and then sending me what was left over. Ben keeps updating photos of each individual new arrival and HONESTLY answers any further questions about those arrivals. I have been a customer of Ben's for over a year now, buying mostly wildcaught colored Amazon tree boas (and many of them!). I have not recieved ONE questionable animal from him...not one mite, not one URI, period. Ben has even thrown in a surprise 'freebie' on more than one occasion because of my patronage. Posted At 14:47:04 01/25/2001 I, too, agree!! He is a great guy! I got THE most beautiful, healthy ratsnake from him-that I have ever seen!! The snake is growing like a weed and the color is just wow!!! I'd buy from him again in a heartbeat!! He even put up with the slow mail cos -I don't use credit cards.!!! Posted At 22:51:13 02/11/2001 I HAD BOUGHT 1 OR 2 FROM HIM I HAVE MANY REPS I REMEBER 1 THIN ABOUT BEN SIEGELS REPS THOUGHT WAS PAYING A HIGH PRICE BUT YOU KNOW WUT IT WAS WORTH IT 100 PERCENT THE SNAKES WERE OUTSTANDING THEY WHER THE HEALTHIEST SNAKES I HAVE EVER SEEN AND IVE BOUGHT AND SOLD MANY SNAKES I STILL HAVE THE ONES I GOT FRM HIM B/C THEY WERE OUTSTANDING AND SAID I KNOW IM KEEPING THESE FOR MYSELF HES A GREAT GUY THANX BEN |
