More opinions needed......

See?

Isn't this ridiculous? You had to open up this thread just to see what I was talking about. I'm seeing more and more people posting a new thread with a topic line like this, and I think I need to put a halt to this trend.

The topic line should be considered as a short synopsis of what the thread you have started is all about. Sort of like a table of contents in a book. Otherwise you are wasting bandwidth and the time of everyone whom reads it that really doesn't have an interest in what you are asking or saying.

Some common sense and a bit of courtesy will go a long way here.

To me, this would fall under the category "herp discussion" and all similar post should be posted there. Any posts of the sort made here should be deleted. This board is to let people know who the good and bad people are. If a post or thread starts out by saying "I'm not going to say who this person is but this is the deal" it does no one any good and it does not belong in this section. It belongs in the discussion section.

I totally agree with Steve and "he who is slave to this board"
Not giving names wastes time, if you are going to post here names are what it's all about! "good guy/bad guy"
"More Opinions Needed" wates time and space as well.
I dont even open those with that kind of title anymore.
(unless "he who lives for us" has posted it)
I come here to find out who I want to work with and who
I want and NEED to stay away from.

I think you should be strict and make EVERYONE conform to the original - Name(bad, good, inquiry) - format. That makes it much easier. All the posts about ongoing deals without telling the names, etc. are a waste of time and space. This board was originally created to allow people to post good or bad dealings, not to describe an ongoing event and ask for suggestions. People can email their friends or other users of this board if they want input of that sort.

Just my .02....

Yep I've noticed the trend and was wondering when you were going to kill it !!! It seems to be being used as a way for some folks that know they've got a deal going bad to get their opinion on first before the negative post appears. I agree stick strickly with the original forum i.e. **good guy, bad guy, inquiry**
Keep up the hard work.

Hi Rich,
You might want to check out a site called aok.heavengames.com
You will see that this site has a very large number of users but the webslave there has enlisted people to help out. There is a 'cherub' or 'angel' at each forum who has editing control. Go ahead and make the rules, and get others that you trust to help enforce those rules. I can't imagine that any one single individual has enough free time and energy to manage something like what you have here all on their own.
Nice job btw.
