I can back up Chip's experience. Jeramy LaCourse (Portage Lagoon) owes me $384. I ordered some pumilio which never came. He promised a refund. After a few months of lies (e.g. envelopes kept going back to him, wire transfer was transferred back into his account, money was on its way, etc..), I discovered that I was not alone. That's when the thief stopped emailing me back all together.

I would never buy from him again. I guess I was lucky to get my snakes from him. Even though they were a few months late, after not returning any of my e-mails or calls. They did get here but they were so mite infested it was sad. They are doing well now though. Except one baby burm that unfortunatly died.

I bought 15 niles and 15 savs from him about 6 months ago. The shipping was delayed and the email responce was bad. I got tired of it and just emailed him and told him that I wanted a tracking number of the refund or a tracking number of the monitors by the next day or I was turning him into the postal inspectors fr fraud. I guess the "weather cleared" because he sent them the next day. I would not use him again.

Update: Jeramy sent me $325/$384 he owes me (letter was cc to the Postal Inspection Service). He says we're even because he incurred costs sending the letters that he never sent, etc. Obviously, I wouldn't call it even yet. The guy's a thief. He talks a good talk and says he's doing things but in the end, I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him (and I'd love to find out how far that is).

I made the mistake of purchasing three Dwarf Fischer Chameleons from him about a year ago. After several shipping delays and a bunch of whining about his problems, he finally sent the three animals after I got really ticked off. He sent three chameleons in a small cardboard box with no insulation or heat packs. Two died shortly after arrival, but one strong individual is still with me. Guess I'm lucky I got anything at all from him.

I like this,this is nutts!!!!!

1) Yes,there was a problem with chip millers order, which was proven not to be my fault! NOT chips either just a lost then returned box (proven) and two people who both got mad.Hopefully chips happy with the delayed outcome of our problem.(which I apologize to chip for)
2)FRANK- YOU are just a funny guy! I gave you $325.00 after the postal inspector said I could give you $0 and not worry! For the facts (1)you orded something advertised as nonrefundable (2)I sent you a refund countless times! with multiple checks I had to cancel at my bank as proof and money orders I had to cancel and renew!!(3) I had several returned priorety and regular mail envolopes with your home address and one priorety with you work? address stamped "not in our employ" (4)and all this info was shared with you and the postal inspector!! and was also told to the postal inspector when my local postmaster called them! stating the problems I had, and I gave you the local post office's # to call! if you wanted too!! (5) I stopped emailing you when I decided there was noway to resolve anything with you and since the postal inspector was involved I let them mediate, thats why all the final letters were CC'd to them !

(3) Robert SORRY I have no recallection of our deal
but I would like to hear about it! I don't actually have this email address but I can check it sometime.

(4)Jeff Houston (1)I don't control the weather (2)yeah you did threaten me because the overnite shipping I paid for ended up being two day shipping! (3) If our deal went so bad why did you try to order more? and try to get me to drop ship to your customers for you? (yes I still have the emails)

(5)Chris - seems to me I got an email from you saying "they arrived in great shape"

and finally - It doesn't matter much to me! as due to problems like this.people lying, people expecting shippers to control the weather and shipping agencies, I am not in the internet reptile bussiness any more!!!!!
So for all the complaints about shipping! CALL DELTA and UPS and the post office! SEE if they tell you "NO we will not ship if it's to HOT or too cold"! AND call UPS 3 times see how many different replies you get about "we do" and then "we don't" ship reptiles. And hey if some people can scam or just get lucky and always ship with no problems! More power to them, I just wouldn't lie about a boxes contents to get it shipped!

P.S. thanks for pointing these out to me Mike!

Jeramy,
As stated previously. I have both the email and the ad that says live arrival guaranteed. Furthermore, nothing (not dead or alive- nothing) was sent to me. Finally, you had repeatedely promised me a FULL refund. Since I ordered frogs but did not receive any, it sort of makes sense that I would be refunded, doesn't it?
You state that you had problems getting the money to me because of postal errors. You seemed to have had these same problems with Chip Miller too. Is that simply a coincidence? The ONLY letter that was cc'd to the postal inspectors made it to me without any problems. You state that you have an envelope that says "not in our employ." We routinely receive mail for people who left the lab years ago. The mail room at my university has no way of knowing who is still employed (>4000 employees). Had you sent me something without my department or postal code on it, they would have looked for my last known (and only) departmental affiliation and then sent it there. I just received some frogs and the mail room called my lab despite not having been supplied the phone number by the shipper. My department would not have returned the letter nor does it have a stamp that says, "not in our employ." (I looked)
You are perhaps the only person on this planet to have ever had a wire transfer transferred back into his own account after what was it- 8 days?. But then since you are also the only person out of hundreds who has had a problem with my answering machine (and Chip's too), I can understand the difficulties of a wire transfer.
At no time, did you provide me with a phone number for the postal worker who you allegedely dealt with. I would very much like to receive a phone number or other contact information. I think that would be fun.
I completely understand your reluctance to email me back. After all, I had been polite, fair, and reasonable. I worked with you to try and resolve the issue. I gave you my home and work addresses when you said the letter with the refund couldn't be sent. I gave you the routing information to do a direct wire transfer. I gave you ample notification that I would involve the postal inspectors. I even updated this board so that people would know that you sent me $325 out of the $384.
