Hi guys! I feel it is time to post about the deal I did with this guy, Scott Bowers. In the end of July I saw an ad for Hypo dragon babies posted by Scott Bowers. I inquired about them, and he told me he had several dragons from Hypo parents that were 10 and 14 weeks old. We did some haggling, and finally struck a deal. I was told they were healthy and as I said before, 10 and 14 weeks old. I sent him money, and he sent the dragons.
When I received them they were very skinny, and did not look very healthy at all. Not to mention the fact that I had a group of hatchlings of my own that were less than two weeks old, and bigger than most of what he sent me. I e-mailed him and told him all of this, and he responded that they were exactly what he said they were, health and age.
With-in the first week, six of the dragons had died. As they were dieing, I kept in touch with him, and kept asking about their age and health. He kept reassuring me that they were exactly what he said they were, healthy and 10 and 14 weeks old. He told me his friend told him he might have under-fed them, and that is why they looked so young and so skinny.
Now some of you may ask, why didn't I send them back?? The reason for not sending them back was, at the age that they looked (younger than my two week old hatchlings) the stress from shipping them in their condition and their age, they would most likely die. Anyone who knows about dragons, knows that they should'nt be shipped at this young age. I guess I'm a sucker for animals, and would rather take the loss than kill them with another shipment.
After e-mailing him a couple times, he did refund some money for the 6 or 7 dead ones. Now, after 3-4 weeks, out of 13 dragons we have only 4 left. That is a total of 9 that have died. We have one more that will likely die, and who knows about the other three. I took several of the dead ones to our vet, and they have been sent to Texas for necropsies. We are still awaiting the results. Not only am I out of the money I paid for them, I am also out the $200.00 plus? dollars I have spent for the necropsies. I have not received the final bill from my vet, but hopefully it won't be much more.
I am not posting all of this, not to spatter his name, but just to let everyone know, and get some thoughts on this. Another person he sold some of these to, said he was told they were older than they looked also. If I knew the were not the age they were supposed to be, let alone the health they were in, I would have never bought them. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated, Thanks!

I Know Bob, and know how well he takes care of his animals. This sounds like the good old case of someone trying to sell some animals to make a quick buck, and ship animals that are not what is stated in adds, and e-mails. I know Bob is a honest guy, and would not try and say something died if in fact it did not. I also know how well he takes care of his beardeds. I have some of his, and you can tell he knows how to take care of them. I hope who ever this is who tried to mislead Bob takes care of some of the financial cost, or send him some animals that are what they are stated to be age wise.
Good luck Bob, its always hard to deal with loosing animals!

I have been in sales 12+ years...advertising to businesses, door to door, cars, custom pool, etc., and if there's one thing I've learned.....You NEVER lie just to make a sale! I have lost deals because I have told the truth about some of the animals I have sold, but at least I felt better about myself. It WILL come back and bite you in the butt! At least he refunded some of your money, but that still doesn't excuse the fact that he misrepresented them. I hope everything works out in the end.

Normally I would say...If you don't like it send it back.... But considering the age and fragility of really young beardeds.....I am glad you did not send them back...

And a note to whomever will probably read this.....you know who I am talking about(JS & BL). He did not necessarily post a bad guy comment...he put the facts up and let us decide..... The other dude would have been totally a bad guy if he did not refund any of the money. Bob did not come here saying...I got a sick snake so this means that Scott is bad.....he gave the guy the benefit of the doubt. And if you look at the dates....Bab waited and gave the guy a chance to make ammends.

Well done bob. I just wish they would have lived. Poor babies

Thanks to Rick, Patrick, and Ritchie for your posts! To Tim: As I stated in the e-mails that I sent you, you don't know me from JACK, and have No right to judge me for that matter. The only one to call an ASS here would be you! People like you are the ones thet have no right being on here posting your nonsense, knowing nothing about what you are talking about.
