i wanted to post here regarding my recent experiences with chris hunter of hunter reptiles. i purchased a cb '01 common snapping turtle from him this july. the animal arrived in timely fashion, and was healthy and thrived almost immediately. the catch is that i am active duty military. a school i had applied for finally opened, and we found ourselves faced with a move to california. one day while digging around on the turtle forums i found out that snapping turtles are banned from california. i had no idea; i wouldn't have bought the turtle if i did. i was pretty sure i would have to just donate the turtle to someone and wasn't looking forward to it. not just anyone can handle them. i decided to email chris and see if he would trade on another species...i wasn't very hopeful. snappers aren't exactly high dollar sellers, and i didn't want to come off like "hey i got this thing and i can't take care of it, could you send me another?" i was very suprised! he was very understanding and receptive. we shipped our snapper this morning and look forward to our new cb softshell. i would definitely do business with him again! thanks chris! nate |
