I bought an female albino ball python from him last year. When i got the snake , it did not eat. I told Tom about this, and he tried to tell me that I have not housed the snake properly.Trust me I know how to house a snake. To make a long story short , the snake did not eat for 8 months, Tom convinced my husband to send it back to him, because he would get it to eat. He informed us about two months later,upon weekly calls from us, that the snake is a gonner, and we should expect a full refund in one week. That was two months ago, every week now for these two months he promises a refund the next day. Than he dissapears for a week, and after many calls, he promises to overnight our $4500 refund. Yesterday I called Zootek the company he works for to see what is going on, and I recieved a recording saying they are no longer taking orders , and that people with pending charges should expect a refund. Sounds to me as if they are out of business. I cannot tell you how upset I am. I feel cheated , and that is so uncool. I spent $ 4500 on a snake I do not have.Numerous vet visits, and two Delta shipping charges, and I get nothing, not even lies anymore just nothing. I am very glad that I have documented all our steps and transactions scince the begining, if anyone knows where he is, our any info on Zootek please let me know. Thank You Claudia Guimaraes |

9241.html Posted At 06:24:37 09/20/2001 claudia, he got me also and lots of others too. my story is exactly like yours, 'i'm sending or sent the refund on monday'. he even tricked me w/ 'i'll put it in paypal for you' but it never cleared and nothing ever came to my house except malnourished and dying animals. he currently owes me $440. i had him on the ropes once then magically THAT day, he advertised 1.1 yt cribos!!! this is what i was trying to get from him for almost a year. well, i bit. another $200 down the drain! now i hear he's out of snakes and only does turtles and some lizards. probably because they last longer w/ no food and water. animals i have received from him, that he told me were feeding, looked practically like road kills when they arrived, which was seldom. TOM MELROSE and ZOOTECK are the WORST i have ever, ever seen. he is a THIEF and a SCAM ARTIST. he didn't even feed or water the scant few animals he had. they just lay around in crates slowly dying until he can sucker somebody into buying them. i'm sure, w/out a shadow of a doubt, that he re-sold your python. this is how he operates. he'll probably reemerge under a new name soon since he drove zootek into the ground. btw, did he ever give you the line about his los angeles warehouse? more ZOOTEK BULL! he uses that one to buy more time when someone is really breathing down his slimy back. 'oh, i'm having that shipped in from the la warehouse, give me another week. yeah, right tom. anyway, sorry that he stung you guys for such a large amount. have you hit the keyword search yet? more incredible stories of him stealing from honest folk can be found there. feel free to contact me about this matter. tom melrose and zootek have to be made accountable for these scams he perpetrates on people and the damage he does to animals and the business as a whole. he really belongs in jail just for cruelity to animals alone. i'll join forces w/ you and can get several others to participate as well if you want to nail him like i do. here is his address if you did not already have it. i happen to know that he is still there. 9624 nw 7th circle, plantation, florida. 33324. i also have his 'current' phone number here somewhere if you'd like that as well but it may have been disconnected already. anyone reading this w/ similar tales, please post your story here. he's been jerking me around for two years and it's time for 'comes round'. |

He goes to strictly reptiles or other importers and has them drop ship your animal most of the time. I have been at these places when he shows up with his camera to take pics of animals and doesnt buy them till someone buys them from him. He is a loser from what I hear....stay away! |
