9711.html Posted At 08:57:57 10/03/2001 I agree. Shawn is great! I purchased an Albino Colombian Boa from him. We were stationed in Germany at the time. We had 7 months left before we were to come back stateside. I just happen to be checking out the kingsnake.com classifieds and I saw his ad. This snake was literally saying, "BUY ME". It had that look and I just had to have it. The problem was we still had 7 months left in Germany and I didn't have all the money. The worse part is that most people I emailed about snakes for sale didn't even respond, probably because I was in Germany. Can you blame them? There were only 6 people out of about 35 inquires that I made that actually responded. I got snakes from most of them. :) Anyway to make a long story short I contacted Shawn and he was willing to take payments and baby sit the snake till I got back stateside. I sent a payment that was about 60% of the cost of the snake and the rest was to be paid when we picked her up. He held that snake for me, even though the money took forever to get there( Just over 2 weeks even with priority mail). It was close to the holiday season and the mail was very slow on Post. I was going to pick up the snake on my way to Kansas, but our orders got messed up. It's an army thing. LOL. He ended up shipping the snake to my sister, in California, since picking up the snake would have been 600 miles out of our way and we didn't know exactly when we would be back. He still ended up babysitting the snake for almost 6 months. He sent emails and pictures too, letting me know how she was doing. When the snake arrived at my sister's house it was packaged very well. It was fat,healthy, and warm. It took food right away. He even sent care instructions and his phone number, since my sister wasn't much of a snake person. Shawn went above and beyond what you might expect when buying a snake. I'd buy from him again. Wait!! I did buy from him again. I got a pair of Black Kingsnakes. You know he was just as nice the second time too. We were stateside this time, but homeless(actually living in a motel. With 2 children, 10 snakes and a dog). We were in the process of buying a house. We had just gotten back from Germany. :) That time we sent the money in full. Unfortunately Shawn got stuck babysitting again. He took care of these snakes for 2 months while we waited for Escrow to close. These snake also arrived in excellent shape, well packaged, and beautiful. Now I don't want you to think he runs a babysitting service, because he doesn't. I'm just letting you know he goes out of his way to make the customer happy. He served me with patience and knowledge, Ever since he wrote to me to ask me to write this I am so much thinking about the experience of buying my snake. Oh thank you Shawn again for teaching me so much about reptiles. How are you feeling by the way I hope you have recovered from that accident to your head. |
