Description: The DBS 1000 is Helix Controls’ newest low-cost proportional temperature controller that provides ultimate comfort and health for your animal 24 hours a day by regulating the temperature of the cage or environment.

FEATURES
  • This proportional controller mimics nature by continuously adjusting the amount of power delivered to the heater, as opposed to simply turning ON and OFF as done by other manufacturers.
  • The new digital interface is simple and easy to use. Set the desired temperature using just one button. Check the programmed set-temperature anytime by simply pressing the button. There is no ‘trial and error’ common with analog systems that cannot display the set-temperature. You get the desired temperature the first time you program the unit.
  • The programmed set-temperature values are stored in a type of memory that keeps its values even when power goes out, thus settings will never be lost. This new low-cost system is designed to be the utmost in reliability in maintaining the ultimate health of your special animal. The system even has built-in fault checking that will let you know if the temperature probe is damaged.
  • Installation is very simple and fool-proof with the new "One-Piece" construction
  • The new LED display is highly visible from across the room—even at night.
  • This system is expandable with many of Helix Controls’ accessories, such as the Day-Night Photocell or 24 Hour Timer for dropping the temperature at night, Lighting Controllers, or even Power Modules to increase heater capacity.
  • The display has a resolution of 1.0 degrees Farenheight, but the internal resolution is calculated to 0.25 degrees Farenheight.
  • The remote probe is standard at 5 ft. long with a 0.3 inch max diameter for easy setup. Custom length probes can be ordered.

Pros: Very Precise, Temperature memory
Cons: None that I've noticed.

The Helix control system Thermostat is by far the best thermostat I have ever used. The precision of this device is outstanding.
When I began using my helix on with my incubator, my hatch rate increased to almost 100% success. Although this product is what I would consider "overkill" for use with a rack system, I strongly recommend to anyone incubating eggs that require exact temperatures to hatch properly to use a HELIX if possible.

Pros: Very easy to program, temperature probe can be replaced. Night drop capability
Cons: None

This is a nice solidly built and easy to use proportional thermostat. I have had mine for about 6 years and it runs like a champ. I have even used it to control the temperature of an incubator when I was raising leopard geckos.
I love the fact you can easily replace the temp sensor if it gets damaged
