Keeping in mind that I have only been doing the herp thing for about 4 years (so take my experiences with a grain of salt), I have never seen a viper boa that didn't act out aggressively towards its keeper. It has always seemed like they do well in captivity though, despite that they are indeed mostly wild caught or CH from wild caught females that were gravid. I also believe that they live in swampy conditions, and that they get stressed out super easily, so its recommended that they are handled only when absolutely needed (and of course with tongs or snake hooks to avoid personal injury), and also recommended that they are not kept in glass enclosures, especially in high traffic areas. If you can see them, they can see you, and it stresses them out to the point that some will not even accept food.
Hope this little bit helps!
